i was thinking the same thing - if I'm in Nate Davis shoes - a potential big NFL prospect - I'm playing my ass off until the end no matter what the score...Tulsa played hard every snap until the end...score was once tied 7-7, but shortly after it was like they didn't even care they were there...body language told me alot about Davis and this Ball State team tonight...and all those fumbles - all I know is if I'm an NFL scout and looking for a QB - I don't want Nate Davis...always thought he walked around so cocky most of the year - real tough guy - beating up on the powerful MAC conference...the funny thing is I had a feeling Ball State was going to play bad tonight - not this bad - I truely thought we might see a back and forth scoring swap for a few series - but I really liked Tulsa to pull away around the 3rd quarter...just glad I made Tulsa my biggest play of the Bowl season - feels good to finish the season very strong and profitable once again...

a very telling stat.....ball st 6 possessions in the 2nd half.....and "0"...

that`s right,"0" first downs....

and with over 2 minutes left near midfield, they punt on 4th down...

did they realize that this was on national t.v.?...

maybe they should change their name to "no balls" st...

i mean the coach...the qb...when things got tough they just flat out quit...

really looks bad for the program...

nah....you had to think that they would be discouraged after losing a perfect season (same with bama) in the last game of the season & their coach abandoning them for this game....

i don`t know,brother....playing badly or not being motivated is one thing...quitting is quite another...

i can`t remember ever watching a bowl game in which a team didn`t get a first down in an entire half...not at this level....

the qb embarrassed himself and probably ruined any chance at coming out this year...if not more than that...

that was a travesty and says alot about the kid`s character...

honestly,i`ve never seen a complete capitulation like that in a game...it was brutal...

let me rephrase my opinion...this was the most "blatant" example of a team collectively quitting in a game that i`ve ever seen....

from the lack of effort to the body language to the play calling all the way down to the punt from mid-field with more than 2 minutes left...

and most explicitly from the quarterback who from the first fumble seemed to be more interested in blaming his teammates than hitching up his socks and getting after it...

these are college kids...their lack of enthsiasm....lack of effort....lack of team and school pride....and mostly lack of self respect in front of a national t.v. audience......

maybe it was because it was "raining" and they were "uncomfortable"?....wah,wah wah....:142crying

it was all very disturbing......

thats my opinion...thats what i saw with my own eyes..

I'm with you.

thanks,bud...i had an under 1st half bet(thanks ar1)and a teaser with tulsa and over,so i basically broke even...it`s not a gambling rant...

i just don`t like seeing that defeatist attitude...

i was so impressed by ohio st,outmanned and getting handled in the second half by texas...watching them fight their way back into the game vs a beast of a team like texas with that vertically challeged qb....

that`s what it`s all about,imo...
