It's been quiet for a while from DAVE. HU Unloopers are supposedly being tested in Canada.

Skinar - I have a 6TH generation RCA receiver and an H card. Any idea what the cost will be to upgrade to an HU (when the H cards become obsolete).

HU cards sell for $75-$100 on the internet. You can buy a whole setup, including card, from Walmart for $85.

sdi610,

sdi is ominously close to SID, the Signal Integrity Division of DAVE!! In either case, I don't know exactly how many ECM's have been launched since BS. I know the HU cards were taken down once in April, but were back up in a couple of days. The bootloader for H cards was attacked a month or so ago and were down for a couple of days, but they were back up shortly. H Cards running emulation had a few glitches but never went down as far as I know.

... but then, if you work for DAVE, you already know that.

Skinar - I see DAVE everywhere. What exactly is that and what does it stand for.
Also, do you know when the H cards will become obsolete, and if HU cards can also work with emulators (because that appears to be the most stable fix).

Thanks

yea 1st post here, but not on the subject.

first off the hu's have been ecm'd twice 3-25 and 1-07,the hu's that were hit are not back up some dealers exchanged them but did not fix em and only a couple of people can unloop them, any hu without usw1 will be LOOPED!!!

dave is a nickname for dtv.

h card's are being hashed at the 8001 address and the last bootloader fix was out in 10 min!!!thanx ram999 and aol.any h that is not being emulated or is not a valid sub will be ecm'd!!!!

you can not use a h in a 6th gen ird unless you use the cam id and zkt from a hu and only for emulation, and h's were not issued on 4th gen or higher ird's.

there are 4 million paying h sub's so they will be around for quite some time!!!!

wally world $49.99!!!! single system.

hu's can be used in emulation but only for data logging, seeing as there is no way into the eeprom using any program anyware at this time you can not aux the card leaving it open to any and all ecm's thus defeating the reason any normal pearson(free tv'r)would want to emulate.

i will not talk about $ for card's on someone else forum that is non d$$

not trying to flame anyone just tell the fact's..

BIG ORANGE LAND!!
Until the REAL HU unlooper or software hits the market buy a bootloader or emulator and save the HU's. I can get them from a good source for $75. I have seen them lower but I stick to good dealers who I know will not rip me off.

just a little update usw64-67 has been sent since i posted, bootloaders should go down very soon!!

USW64-67 in the stream:

code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
00 43 | If USW = 66 then add update 67 (00 43)
89 3C | Write 12 bytes starting at 893C
87 82 09 87 83 FE 81 6E DF FB | Bytes in update
F7 22 :

00 42 | If USW = 65 then add update 66 (00 42)
88 62 | Write 1 bytes starting at 8862
37 | Bytes in update

00 41 | If USW = 64 then add update 65 (00 41)
87 02 | Write 1 bytes starting at 8702
16 | Bytes in update

00 41 | If USW = 64 then add update 65 (00 41)
87 47 | Write 1 bytes starting at 8747
16 | Bytes in update

05 | 5 bytes in nanocommand
00 40 | If USW = 63 then add update 64 (00 40)
87 5D | Write 1 bytes starting at 875D
24 | Bytes in update

00 40 | If USW = 63 then add update 64 (00 40)
87 6D | Write 1 bytes starting at 876D
35 | Bytes in update
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Preliminary findings:

The location of C9 Dynamic code was moved from 893C to 8924 (USW64)

The allowable length of a C9 was increased from 17 bytes to 21 allowing for longer, more complex C9 packets (USW65)

A bug in CmdEF which allowed for packets longer than the card could handle was fixed by USW66.

USW67 added a new hash routine at the old C9 location which accepts a starting address and a # of bytes and then stores the result of the XOR hash back in RAM.. This routine is presumably to be called by some new, upcoming C9's and can be used to implement easy, rotating, dynamic hashing of DPBB's and range-comparison ECMs.

ex67 is a pro

If this guy can handicap as well as he knows his DSS biz, then I would follow him without question.

Bottom line - he spoke quite a bit of assembler language which takes a bit of effort to understand. The other bottom line - most guys just want to know how to get their cards fixed and when they go down, will someone be there to repair the problem.

I do not presume to be a hacker. I'm much more concerned with wins and losses in the NBA right now than hex code for HU cards. At this point I relinquish all questions about DSS to ex67.
