blg,
I am not a real argumentive person but I was at the SC-ASU game last year and after the ASU domination of the first half there really was no doubt in the second. Unless I had 5-10 too many that day, SC outscored ASU 35-7 in the second half and after gaining control of the game in the 3rd quarter they put it away in the 4th.

The first half was quite threatening but here is the summary of the second half:

USC 3rd U20 15:00 Kickoff A00 12:41 *TOUCHDOWN 7-80 02:19
ASU 3rd A41 12:41 Kickoff A41 11:38 Punt 3-0 01:03
USC 3rd U15 11:38 Punt A44 09:54 Fumble 4-41 01:44
ASU 3rd U42 09:54 Fumble U42 09:46 Interception 1-0 00:08
USC 3rd U36 09:46 Interception A00 08:29 *TOUCHDOWN 4-64 01:17
ASU 3rd A20 08:29 Kickoff A45 05:06 Downs 7-25 03:23
USC 3rd A45 05:06 Downs A44 03:36 Punt 3-1 01:30
ASU 3rd A11 03:36 Punt A50 00:42 Interception 7-39 02:54
USC 3rd U44 00:42 Interception U46 14:46 Punt 3-2 00:56

ASU 4th A20 14:46 Punt A23 13:49 Punt 3-3 00:57
USC 4th U11 13:49 Punt A00 08:46 *TOUCHDOWN 11-89 05:03#
ASU 4th A30 08:46 Kickoff U00 05:57 *TOUCHDOWN 10-70 02:49#
USC 4th U20 05:57 Kickoff A00 03:44 *TOUCHDOWN 5-80 02:13
ASU 4th A20 03:44 Kickoff A28 03:32 Interception 2-8 00:12
USC 4th U44 03:32 Interception A00 02:22 *TOUCHDOWN 3-56 01:10
ASU 4th A49 02:22 Kickoff U09 00:53 Interception 10-42 01:29#
USC 4th U20 00:53 Interception U16 00:00 End of half 2--4 00:53

To top it off SC had over 400 yds of offense in the second half and aside from one outstanding drive, ASU had about 150 yds and tons of miscues.

So. Cal
no doubt usc was dominant in the second half, but it was the last interceptions that i was referring to that finished ASU hopes, and one of them should have been a first down, instead it bounced off hagans hands right into the air above 2 sc defenders. If i remember the other pick was in the endzone on a fade route, although i could be mistaken

I dont doubt that SC had 400 yrds offense in 2nd half, everytime i blinked reggie had broken the middle open for another 20 yrd dash

And i dont know what the mood was at the game during the 2nd half but livin in socal i was with alot of sc fans and they were nervous until the second to ast pick with hagan in the final minutes of the 4th, sc had to score alot to get back from 17-3 (i think that was the score at halftime i dont know though)

Good assessment of the game, must have had too many.

I actually bought my tickets through the ASU athletic department and sat with the students. I can tell that the crowd was entirely deflated by the time the 4th q started. At that point I was feeling very confident in my second half wager, which at the time was my largest in 3 years. Unfortunately my second half RB loss negated it.

As for the first half, I could have thrown up, especially after Leinart got his bell rung beyond repair. Thankfully, they had White and Bush or they would have been spanked.

As for this year, the game is at SC and SC's defense is much better. I like the ASU QB's, but I think the mental factor always plays into ASU. Koetter has never won in CA and I don't think that this is the year. At least not in the Coliseum.
