There are some interesting fights scheduled for the next weeks?

Next Saturday there is an interesting double header in Germany.

Erdei defends his title against Barashian and Inkin defends his title against Balzay.

Erdei vs. Barashian
I don?t know if Erdei will be champion for too long?.he is getting a little long in the tooth and he hasn?t faced quality opposition in some time (since his last fight against Garay)?Barashian is a tough guy, from what I have heard he had Garay hurt in their fight, but ultimately lost by a wide margin.
Erdei has an akward effectiveness about him?and I expect him to prevail in this fight?

I?m looking at the over in this fight.
Erdei is not a big puncher and Barashian is tough.
Its not a great price but bwin customers can get over 8 rounds @-400 and over 9 rounds @-333.
Barashian will put up a good fight, but probably lose a competitive decision?

Balzay vs. Inkin
Balzay IMO is the dark horse in the division?he has good amateur credentials and I see him as the slightly superior fighter?Inkin though has fought at a higher level?
I?m leaning towards Balzay?.but so far I haven?t pulled the trigger?
Both fighters are with the same promotion.

I also think that Vic is maybe slightly overvalued by the bookies?Mijares IMO didn?t bring his A game.

Kotelnik Maidana is another interesting fight.
Maidana reminds me a little of Tszuy from the way he fights?he is not a wild puncher but somebody who methodically walks you down?Kotelnik is tough though?
There has been quite some money coming in on Maidana and I can see why?some bookies still have him at a decent prize (+215), but the line I really like is Maidana by decision @+1100 (bwin, stanjames)?Kotelnik is really hard to stop.

Nice to have some boxing action back! :)

Any feedback is welcome!

I think both fights in Germany this weekend will go the distance

Vic is over-priced, but I still think he will kill Arce...maybe Vic KO prop?

I have never heard of the guy fighting Kotelnik, but +1100 looks nice!

Money coming in a bit on Balzay

can't say I've seen him before, but from what I've read, people are impressed.

I thought the Zuniga-Inkin fight was pretty close....

still, this to me, seems too tough to call !

I'm gonna say Balzay pulls off the upset, but NO PLAY for me

like Graham said, a pick em fight....coin flip.

I'm gonna focus on Gamboa, Berto, Margarito.....

I took Balzay for 2.38 bwin.
What a heck, it's a pick em fight so the odds are good.
Important to me is that he is also KP Kohl fighter trained by Sdunek.

I'm on Maidana for an avg of +220...opened +270.
Kot is a good capable fighter but certainly not a world beater. Don't know much about Maidana but he's knocking everybody the puck out including fighters that have gone the dst with world class fighters. They have 1 common opponent whom maidana ko'd in 5 and went the dst with kot. This is boxrec for me but by all apearances Maidana is very live at plus odds.

These are really slim times at the moment and i don't think things will heat up for a few more weeks.

Good good grab Romi !

I missed that, and now the odds are too close. But I think you have an EXCELLENT chance with the dog there.

I'm not that impressed with a win over Gavin Rees. Kotelnik is very capable, but beatable.

Hopefully boxing will start to fill it's 2009 calendar. MMA has been rough lately, at least for me.

Waiting on Gamboa and Solis odds for Friday...

By the way looking a week down the line

Quintana is out against Albert for FNF (injured)

it will now be a rematch between E. Albert and Ossie Duran

also Joe Greene may be out against Sergio Martinez...something wrong with his kidney...

That's a great price! I wish I grabbed that early. Maidana is quite live. Kotelnik solid but he fights at a measured pace and doesn't over extend himself. He's not extraordinary.

From Marty Mulcahy of maxboxing:

Champion who will go: Andreas Kotelnik ? This is not so much a knock on Kotelnik, or his abilities, but a tip of the hat to his challenger Marcos Maidana. The Argentine dynamo has scored 24 kayos in 25 fights, against a wide stylistic range of foes, and has done so in Europe. Kotelnik is a solid boxer, but has not excelled in fights against world class opposition. He won the title from a weak title holder, Welshman Gavin Rees, but to his credit has never been totally outclassed by anyone. Kotelnik did lose decisions to Junior Witter and Souleymane M'baye, but the keys to those losses were the advantages in hand speed for that duo. That might not be the case with Maidana, but Maidana's power will put Kotelnik on his back foot and perhaps into a defensive shell.

On the Erdei-Barashian undercard Thomas Ulrich is making cruiserweight debut against Armin Dollinger. Ulrich was a solid light hewy on European level and is 1.34 at sportsbook.
I noticed that Dollinger, although undefeated at 19(8)-0 fought noone before his last fight and is 37 years old. Out of his 19 wins, 11 was against guys with no win on their records at the time of the fight!! Majority of his fights were also in LHW division. In his last fight he KOed Kai Kurzawwa in 2nd though.

Anyway I like odds and am taking Ulrich.

I'd take Bradley over Holt on pick 'em lines. He should be a sizable favourite imo

I added the under on Vic/Arce-165 8 1/2...how the hell is this one going to go rds? They are going to meet in the middle of the ring and let it all hang out. This isn't exactly going to be a boxing exhibition. Arce showing a bit of wear and tear will probably come up short and get stopped around 6-7 IMO. Arce has a punchers chance and a fighters heart. He'll do anything to win, which means he'll be in front of Vic to be hit. This will be exciting while it lasts.

Bad news old dirty

Ulrich out with the fever....per fightnews...I thought you had some easy money there

NJ, I too will be on Bradley in a few months

I thought Glen Johnson opened too small a favorite yesterday, and I have been proven correct by the betting public....he is minus 500 now....Daniel Judah sucks....and Glen Johnson is the opposite of suck....the Road Warrior is going to punish him.

and what the hell is Mundine doing fighting old ass Shannon Taylor? This guy Mundine is a piece of work. He's got his very own bum of the month club.

I am betting Balzay to beat Inkin at +130.

I have never been impressed with Inkin.

I think the Gamboa fight goes 2 rounds at most but I can't pull the trigger at that price.

Good luck all :toast:

I am betting Juan Urango over Herman Ngoudjo at +135.
I just can't get the image of Ngoudjo down an out in the final round against Augustus.
Talk about saved by the bell. If that round had been 30 seconds longer, Ngoudjo would have been put to sleep.

Urango is not as skilled as Augustus but he cracks much harder.
