I am betting Juan Urango over Herman Ngoudjo at +135.
I just can't get the image of Ngoudjo down an out in the final round against Augustus.
Talk about saved by the bell. If that round had been 30 seconds longer, Ngoudjo would have been put to sleep.

Urango is not as skilled as Augustus but he cracks much harder.

I was shocked to see this line even
I think Urango smashes him as well
the judges in Canada won't matter....
I've seen Ngoudjo hurt WAY too many times
I may wait a bit on this bet, because the early money has been on the hometown guy
I know Urango is limited, and he couldn't dent Ricky Hatton
but Ngoudjo's chin is more than suspect
worth a play here

But he did put a dent in Hatton. He had Hatton hurt with some great body shots in rd 7 or so. Hatton was forced to box the entire fight otherwise he would have been in trouble. I was on this one small before Wees comments on the Augustus last rd (which I forgot about). Also like the fact this is a 12 rder. Now I feel even better...might add to it. Good luck guys!

Anybody like the under on Mundine/Taylor? I took it for a med wager +230 9 1/2 rds. It opened + 275! Taylor is 36 and fighting a very good fighter in Mundine. Taylor fought to survive against AA but he says he's "preparing for war" v mundine. I think Mundine gets him out of there.

awhile back I bet Abraham to get S. Taylor out of there, and the bastard made it the full 12
However, I heard later King Arthur and him were former sparring mates....I think Abraham carried him

Taylor is even older now....I agree with you....if Mundine wants it, this fight should be over within 5 rounds
Taylor is ancient and fighting WAY out of his prime weight class

Two quick notes

-apparently Larios has agreed to rematch Aoh in Japan (again) on March 14th. How much more can Larios possibly have left?

-looks like the replacement for Joe Greene is gonna be a way tougher fight! Sergio Martinez will now face Daniel Santos ! Wonder how those odds will be adjusted. Fight is now pushed back till Feb. 14th (on the Mayorga-Angulo card)

Urango might have the strongest upper body in the division. And he did hurt Hatton very badly to the body. That was one fight Hatton had to stink out to win. Ngoudjo has decent ability and tries hard. But he's no slickster and Urango should be able to find him. I think they can hurt each other. Remember that 40 year old African with the physique of Adonis that nearly KO'd Urango over a year ago? But all said, Juan is the stronger guy.

What a card that will be with Campbell/funeka to boot. I think Martinez/Santos is a pic em. Martinez looked like a million bucks against Bunema but a little hard to gauge just how good Bunema really was at that stage. Santos is a proven fighter with an excellent resume. Based on his dominating performance over Bunema, I think Martinez will be just a slight favorite. Props to HBO for finding a good replacement and on the excellent card.

I took over 5.5 @ 2,9 Gamboa-Gonzalez.
I don't think it is a very smart bet but I waited to long for boxing action and I couldn't let this first fight go without some action for me :)

Nice hit Old.
The rest of us took a bath on this fight.

I am adding under 11 1/2 at +175 on the Inkin fight.
Inkin's chin might let him down here.

Barashian comes in overweight.

F***!! I certainly didnt expect this.

I played Barashian small to hedge my over on the fight...I just dont see Erdei stopping Barashian...but now coming in overweight and unable to make the weight for the second time...

I cant buy myself out of it, and I still expect the fight to go over...

About anybody is on Balzay...I would make him a slight favorit, but I'm a little unsure....but why not!

Good luck to all! :toast:

Barashian himself seemed to be genuinly surprised and claimed that he checked his weight on a electronic scale.

I still hope he can put up a good fight....he certainly doesnt seem to be grossly out of shape!

The Erdei bout has been pushed back and the Inkin Balzay clash is the new main event!

Congrats Zerwas
the over still hits !

too bad Gamboa blew it

I had a Gamboa under to Erdei over parlay

In the first ?Universum Champions Night? of 2009, unbeaten long time WBO light heavyweight champion Zsolt Erdei (30-0, 17 KOs) outpointed former Euro champ Yuri Barashian (25-5, 17 KOs) over twelve rounds in a non-title bout. Erdei won by scores of 116-111, 116-111, 117-110. Barashyan had some success with his hard blows, but Erdei?s speed allowed him to control the fight. Barashian was deducted a point in round nine for a low blow. The bout was changed to a non-title affair after Barashian failed to make the 175lb weight limit.

I think Inkin is getting a bit frustrated

he smacked Balzay pretty good there on the back of the head....ref gave him a warning

german tv audience has it 2 to 1 Inkin, but i think it could be 2 to 1 the other way
