the thing to consider is that carano`s naturally bigger...and has fought more experienced women....

GW...going out on a limb with Kimbo huh:mj07: :mj07: Kimbo sucks but the guy he's fighting is currently 1-1 against Betty White so I think Kimbo gets the job done:142smilie

And I am all over Smith at those big odds...worth a shot:SIB

And I agree with ya.....should be one great chick fight:scared

I think Thompson has a chance IF he takes Kimbo down. I certainly wouldnt bet on Kimbo at those odds. I will say Kimbo's hands looked SHARP when he fought Tank plus we know hes tough as shit from all his other 'fights'.

Thompson for all his sheer size has a bit of an unsturdy chin. Kimbo CAN take him out but Thompson has good experience and has some good wins on his resume. I dont think Thompson will win honestly so I wouldnt lay too much on him. He has the physical tools and experience but not the chin or mindset.

Lawler would be a good bet. He's tough at this weightclass and fighting a guy who cannot outstrike him and will have a tough time taking him down. Id include him in a parlay but wouldnt bet him straight up.

From those youtube videos Gina's opponent looks VERY worthy and skillwise looks liek she could be a threat (sizewise Im not so sure BUT headkicks can bring anyone down and she seems good with the clinch too)

I'll probably only bet a small parlay with Lawler and Young

good stuff Hurricane.......although I do disagree a bit with you on Smith.....that boy has power!!!! And yes if I had a gun to my head I'd have Lawer of course, but I do like the odds on Smith, he likes to bang (unlike that prick Machida) and if ya like to bang you can knock anyone out. Should be a great fight:scared

Now I know GW disagrees with me.....but there are three things in life I am sure of:

1) I need oxygen to breath
2) GSP is god
3) Kimbo Slice is not an MMA fighter

If anyone in the top 50...and yes I do mean anyone in top 50 of MMA stepped into the ring/octagon with Kimbo they would destroy him. He has fought guys that suck more then Paris Hilton on New Years Eve. I mean Kimbo Slice has never been on the ground and I think has thrown one leg kick.

All that has to happen is that Thompson has to run right at him and tackle him like he's in a football game. No technique, no nothing who cares just run at him and tackle him. But after just watching Kalib Starnes and Sean Sherk in the ring I have noticed that some MMA fighters are complete morons. We know what will happen, Thompson will be a moron stand with him and get knocked out in 12 seconds. The Kimbo hype will live on and in his next fight Kimbo will probably fight ummm let's say George Foreman and then after that fight James Earl Jones. If I knew Thompson would tackle Kimbo I'd bet my left testicle, my left arm and my two nostrils that Thompson will win. I have seen Thompson fight 4 times and yes he fought like an idiot. There is a reason Kimbo is fighting this guy on CBS...so he can knock him out in first minute. And if anybody can list a top 50 list with Kimbo in the top 50 I'll give em 77 million dollars. Kimbo sucks as an MMA fighter. Is he horrible no he isn't. But he ain't even close to a top fighter not even close.

And don't get me wrong I would love and I mean love to see Kimbo lose......but we know Thompson will be an idiot and stand with him...and get knocked out!

Thompson is 2-6 in his last 8 fights......:142smilie

and in his last two.....

Loss Brett Rogers in round one
Loss Neil Grove in 10 seconds :142smilie

I think Kimbo quickly flattens James although at that price I'm staying away.

Despite having over 20 fights, James seems impervious to the benefits of experience. The guy has either been knocked down or koed in the 1st minute or so of about 10 fights, several of which have come recently. That's a lot of mistakes to learn from, however, he has yet to do so. The guy is terrible.

Thompson isn't anything near writing home about. however, I'm gonna be betting on him in this fight.

He's LIGHT years better than anyone Kimbo's fought so far. Not saying much about Thompson, but does say alot about Kimbo's pathetic competition thus far.

Im not gonna lie to you- the first time I watched James Thompson in '03 against Alex Emilianeko I ****ing loved the guys sheer aggression and size (apparently the Japanese did too- as he was invited to PRIDE numerous times) but the thing is he never got that much better. I watched all his fights with the hope that he could be a threat and maybe a top 10 guy sometime.

The only fight I really started thinking he was finally getting "it" was the Fujita fight (but he got brutally KO'd after a tremendous showing). I think he kinda peaked at that fight. He has some fun wins (and losses) and he's nearly always in an exciting fight but thats about all he's got going for him. His fights with Frye, Yoshida, Fujita and Lungu are classics. Hes been to Thailand to train striking and alot of the fight teams in the US have worked with him extensively but he doesnt seem to be able to rise above his chin during the fights. I like the guy and will always root for him but I dont think he'll be much better than a gatekeeper.

Kimbo should win and win brutally BUT James is a big guy and can KO him if he hits him good. Hes very slow and defensively open and most likely wont use his fighting brain so I dont like his chances. He would be the better wrestler IMO but when has he really used that in his fights? Its gonna get ugly quickly. BUT I wont bet Kimbo at -400. If Its -250 I'd bet Kimbo in a parlay with someone who I know will win. With Kimbo the public is so much into him that you wont ever get him at a good price (unless he fights a contender- but then why would you bet on him at that point?) I hope James wins and at +350 hes worth a couple bucks because in MMA anything can happen but dont expect him to win. If you bet for value - hes a decent bet. If you bet winners - pick a better fight to spend your money on.

as I said earlier......just run at Kimbo and tackle him, a 3 year old could figure that out:SIB

Pretty fu**ing obvious.....but Thompson won't do that because he's an idiot.....but maybe he'll read this post and everything will be different:mj07:

Kimbo IS NOT A GOOD MMA FIGHTER.....but he always fights guys that are worse.....simple as that:SIB

Best bet in MMA history would be Thompson...if he had a brain.......he's probably just soley training punches as a type this......idiot:mj07:

This fight is soooo easy that type of fight that you guys and odds always talk about. It's the perfect time.

I know I'll probably throw 20bones at Thompson.

BUCS sometimes i think u just bet on who scares u the most... anybody that doesnt consider odds is an absolute fool and will be a LOSER in the long haul.

Thompson is 2-6 in his last eight bouts... FIVE of these losses by KO and one by TKO... his last three losses (all by KO) came at 2:24, 0:10, 0:43 of THE FIRST ROUND....... THE GUY IS A FUKING JOKE... THE PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR A HIGHLIGHT REEL KNOCKOUT FOR KIMBO SLICE IN HIS NETWORK TELEVISION DEBUT.... this is how Gary Shaw thinks... THOMPSON MAY GO TO SLEEP WITH THE FIRST PUNCH... wouldnt be the first time.

... ill tune in to cheer for Lawler and maybe Villasenor, but wont contribute to the MADNESS that surrounds Kimbo Slice... I actually think of him fairly highly, but EliteXC is just throwing him bite-size fighters. Pathetic.

Instead i'll be watching the tribute to Chuck Liddell on Spike TV.

I'll be on Thompson as well. The odds are way out of wack on this one.

My one big worry is the steroid issue. Thompson always looked like he liked to juice in Pride so that worries me.

that`s my raw`...mincing words as usual......:grins:

i too believe gary shaw has bigger plans...bigger network paydays in mind for kimbo....he won`t make any money with thompson..

but,i guess thompson could land the big shot...the one street fighter that gave kimbo fits was a big guy....

i am parlaying lawler and kimbo...i`m not laying those odds for just that reason...they`re both punchers fighting punchers...

but i have to say....i just got through watching smith in a life and death struggle with pete sell...one he should have lost if not for a hail mary...

i`ve watched lawler, working with the matt hughes stable..and he seems to get better and better...and he gets bigger and bigger(roids?)......

he`s become a very formidable fighter...beating murillo rua was a nice win...as was beating up a fading trigg...and joey villasenor...

with the exception of nick diaz, who`s a different kind of striker and a cut loss to pete spratt awhile back, his losses were to grappler sub guys(jason miller/tanner).....

and i just see nothing special about smith..he`ll stand with lawler and imo, should get the worst of it...

but,you never know...maybe i`m on crack...

speaking of crack, after seeing the tapes on carano and young,i`m as interested in seeing these lil` minx`s as the dudes...

The truth is...

The truth is...

...maybe Thompson is an ok play. I even thought about (briefly thought about) taking him at +400 b/c a bigger guy could be Kimbo's krytonite...? Sean Gannon was a bigger guy and made Kimbo look like a scared little puttytat.

I was just letting my feelings be known about the matchup... Thompson is a guy notorious for not being able to take a shot and there's no reason to believe that will change...

I would give Thompson props for his victory over Don Frye, but im gonna leave the senior citizens out of this :142smilie

rawli007- I bet on who scares me the most? LOL Uhhh, huh?

I think the long haul isn't a worry to me considering my MMA betting record is 97-64. I'm up $4701 this year alone. I've had maybe 2or3 bad events this year.

I don't bet on who scares me most, I bet on who I really thinks is gonna win the fight. I don't bet on every fight, etc....I only bet on the fights that I'm most confident in.

I don't see a fight and see "wow amazing odds."

MMA has so much different values and varieties to bet purely on odds.

I've done 2 parlays this year, and I've won both. Typically when I'm about 100% confident in 3-4 fights, I'll parlay them.

Lawler should dominate Smith. I think Lawler let his ego get the best of him in the past but he sems to be a different guy.

There are some fights on this card that could leave the casual fans wide eyed because of the beat downs these guys will take. Collectively they're not the best group of fighters but this should be an entertaining show.

MMA has so much different values and varieties to bet purely on odds.

- It doesnt make sense to talk just about records... if those 64 losses were on plays w/ odds at -450 and -500, that would likely make for some big losses.

-Do u ever see a fight and say "wow, really chitty odds, i might not wanna lay so much juice" ?? That means u consider odds...

- I dont think anyone bets purely on odds and w/o any knowledge of the fighters.

- I was out of line earlier to say that to u... I realized later that my comments would come off the wrong way... mostly meant it to mean how do u make ur selections if u dont pay attention to odds ?? Maybe just knowledge of the sport, which is good enough for me.... again, I apologize.

- Lastly, i know u dont pick fights based on how scared u are of the fighters, otherwise u wouldnt have picked Machida this past weekend :mj07:
