Fairfield +3.5 over Iona
Fairfield beat them in OT back in Conn in early Dec. 66-59.Staggs are 5-0 in the MAAC.Iona has also won 4 of last 5.
But the staggs played w/o Deng and Deng back then. With the return of the 2 "towers" they are a force inside the paint.Plus Gai knocks 3's too.But lost in the crowd is the play of 6'5 frosh Maxwell. They have 2 good pt gds in Goode and Todd.Garcia is a 6'8 fd who is avg 12 pts a game.He may look about 40 yrs old but he is solid.O'Toole plays about 8 or 9 players. But their size in the MAAC conf is there advantage. The towers are 6'9 and 6'10.Thompson is 6'10 and Garcia at 6'8.They alter shots from inside. In the Rider game the other nite Gai blocked 2 shots in the 1st 2 minuts and Rider never went inside again.
Iona is an athletic team, smaller and quicker. With a group of outstanding gds.Woffard is a 5'8 fire hydrant. But frosh Soliver and McCullough can be explosive.Fields is their top scorer but is a 6'8 3 man.Has nice range but doesn't post up.Smith is there best player and Burtt is beggining to look like his father[great star at Iona]
Iona will have to shoot from the outside. They must pressure the Stags and not let them get into a half court game.Stags will be tested. This isn't Cansisius,Rider,Marist and Fordham. All road wins for Fairfield. But I think they still win or cover this game.

VCU -4.5 over William and Mary
VCU has 2 good gds and 2 top rebounderd. They play great defense.WMary has Hess who does about everything for them.Think Capel can stop one player with his defense.

Manhattan -8.5 over St Pete
Blowout game of the day.Since Saint Peter upset Brother Jasper in the Bronx the Jaspers have been on a roll.It was a wakeup call. They won the holiday festival a few nites later. And haven't looked back since.
Revenge, payback, etc.Whatever you want to call it.But if you know Bobby Gonzalez he is w/o a doubt a "pyscho" coach. This game has been on there calender since the upset.Manhattan wins this by 15-20 pts.

Chattanooga -6 over Appl St-Champion is tough to stop.
Nova +1 over Seton hall
Johnnies +8.5 over G-Town
Murray St -6 over SE Mizzou
Bonnies -9 over Lasalle
Conn pk over NC

Got killed the last 2 nites by a half a pt.Utah St the other nite and Marist.

adding
Zona -11 over UCLA
Have watched the Bruins and think they will get blown out .Am I missing something. They have no pt gd.They cannot stop anyone on defense. They made the Johnnies look like "gold" last week.
Zona has to much speed/To athletic, etc

I like Nova over Rutgers. In my 1st post I put Nova over the Hall.My bad.I get my Jersey teams mixed up sometimes.Rutgers plays great defense. But think Nova pulls this one out.

Hawaii -12 over san Jose St
I know the "bows" are on the mainland. But San Jose is bad.
North Texas -4 over Ark St
NT has been playing so bad since they lost Hopkins.I'm closing my eyes here and playing them.Think maybe Davis finally has a breakout game.

Arizona team total over 39 1st H looks good as well. I see them getting alot of buckets off of Bruin turnovers including the unforced ones they seem to be notorious for of late.

can someone tell me what happened the last minut of the Conn game.Conn was up by 1 with 1.05.I had to take my daughter over to babysit.I got back and there was 3 seconds on the clock and NC was up 1.They were critizing calhoun for letting 30 seconds go by. What happened????

UNC got the ball up 1 with like 33 second left on the clock.
(I forget how long the college shot clock is, but if NC had just held the ball there would have been 0.2 second left for Uconn to get a bucket)

So basically, Uconn had to foul. Well, they didn't foul until 3.3 second were left on the clock. It was a weird sequence. Guy hit 2 free throws, Uconn misses a long three at the buzzer.

But basically, they were in a situation were they had to foul and didn't.

Carolina up 1 with 34 sec left, about .5 secs of the shot clock, Uconn doesn't foul until 3 seconds left. It was pathetic and unexcusable. McCants makes both and Uconn misses as long 3 at the buzzer.

the shot clock and game clock were approx 3-4 tenths of a second apart and they let the clock get down to about 15 seconds before their first attempt at a foul and finally did with 3 secs left...

Calhoun "should have" told them to foul much earlier as they were down by 1 and the shot clock wouldn't expire before time did...

I had UConn myself...

good luck with the rest of your plays and thanks for allyour imput
