I'm sure there are a few that can come close to us miserable fans of Georgia teams, but what separates us imo is that we continually(relative to other miserable teams) get at the doorstep only to have the door slammed in our faces. Was thinking about it and decided to put a number to my misery. I "watched" the local teams as a child but did not become emotionally attached and begin to live and die with them until about 1990, 22 years. Couldn't give a shit less about Basketball or any type of shit played on Ice so they don't even count.

Try being a Toronto Maple Leaf fan.

It is rough.

Was a kid growing up with them in the 80's. They would go 15 straight games and never win. Year after year after year they were terrible. Pretty much the entire decade.

Then in 1993 they are about to go to Stanley Cup finals....the most controversial play in Leaf History (90 years of history I might add) happens......

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/N51jmflc5Io" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Just brutal no call that changed everything.

I can't tell you how big the Leafs are in Toronto, there really is no comparison to how passionate Leaf fans are. Nothing really on earth like it. The fact the Leafs have not won the Cup since 1967 is oh so tough to take:facepalm:

But hey.......GO Leafs GO:00hour

Like I said, true fans of teams that are not very good year in and year out have it rough, but true fans of teams that year in and year out have pretty good teams and chances to win it all only to be bitch slapped at the doorstep is a whole different level of misery:facepalm:

No certainty that we actually win any of these games, but a botched infield fly rule call, a tipped ball completion at the 5 to a guy the ball was not even meant for, and an incompletion at the 5 to a receiver being ridden like a horse by the linebacker is how the above three have treated us loyal fans this year. BTW did I mention FML

not knocking you bud but the ATL is one of worst sports fans in US ... you got metro area of 5-6 million an last weeks game was not sold out til right before game ... and tix were available Mon when I was thinking about going ... they got a good team and should be getting WAY more support!

on another note ... 2 weeks in a row with leads that shouldnt be in question ... last week got lucky and DAMN this weekend as I was pulling for them

why didnt they keep the foot to medal and pushing it down the field? not many 3 weapons like White, Gonzales and Julioooo

Wont disagree with this and would in no way ever claim the contrary. Having said that the number of people here is misleading given that many are move ins and still root for their real hometown team. None of that is either here or there however for the real fans such as myself that actually are emotionally and financially invested.

Tough one to lose. The final play was undoubtedly a missed penalty on the 49er defender. Falcs should've had 1st and goal. I felt bad for Gonzalez, but it would've sucked for the falcs to play for a super bowl in Nola, so I was openly rooting the niners.

This is a prime example of the difference to me. They are never good so they dont even build their fans up only to gut punch them in the end. 6 playoff appearances since 1946

Atl. fans are different in that aspect..

ya get to dance with the hot babe..

ya just never get to take her home..

be thankful though..

ya could be born and raised in Clevland..

Where it is real F ing COLD
Minnesota Vikings have lost 4 Super Bowls.. Lost 1975 NFC Championship game on Hail Mary, Drew Pearson shoved down Nate Wright. Ref got hit with Whiskey Bottle leaving.

1988 NFC Championship game, Darrin Nelson drops game tying TD with .04 seconds left on 4th down, game over.

1988 Team trades the farm for Hershel Walker and Dallas builds dynasty team.

1999 NFC Championship game, Vikes blow late lead in NFC Championship Game, FG kicker who didn't miss all season misses game clinching FG from 39 yards.

2002 NFC Championship game. Vikes get derailed 41 - 0. Accuse Giants of stealing signals.

2010 NFC Championship game. Vikings out gain Saints 500 something yards to 370. Vikes Fumble 4 times an Favre throws pick when he could of walked into FG range. Game goes to overtime, chincy PI call, plus there was a fumble on 4th down in OT and player keeps possession and gets first down.

Not to mention these losses but the team has had laughing stock situations as the
Whizinator and Love Boat scandals, not to mention Randy Moss travestys and since Bud Grant, a series of baffoons coaching the team.

Vikes snake bit so many times and do whatever they can to choke

I think this is why everyone outside of Pittsburgh dislikes us so much, because we are on the opposite end of that.

Since 1971 we have won two World Series, three Stanley Cups and six SuperBowls. 11 Titles in 42 years. We average a parade downtown every four years.

I think that is why everyone else enjoys it so much that the Steelers are 0-4 right now.
