Hello all,
First and foremost I want to thank you all on behalf of myself and my daughter for the outpouring of love, prayers, and cards, etc... If anyone ever thought this site wasn't the best thing that ever happened to the internet then they are sadly mistaken.
Kristyn will be entering a rehabilitation center that will focus on the physical and emotional therapy that she will require as it will be a tough road for one tough girl. When I say rehab it is not a "rehab" but a recovery for medical patients that require special needs such as speech therapy and the like. This is good news as she is on the road to recovery. She will remain there from 4-6 weeks and then HOME BABY:00hour :00hour :spotting: :em71: :mj05: .
I know that she and I would not be here in this state without all the prayers and love sent our way. I think about what could have been sometimes and then a card comes in the mail or she makes some incredible progress and I forget about everything and remember how blessed I am. I still remember when she took me to her senior prom as her date. She won't quit, she won't give up and it is amazing to me to see that strength of character and I am just so ............. happy I guess that she sees that there is a light at the end of all this and she gets closer every day. Soon she will be able to return to a life that I know she had thoughts she would never see again and I am truly at a loss for words to express how I feel.

As for the paper, there are local crime reports and such however I or she has to sign a waiver to let her name be released and there was no way I was doing that.

Again, our thanks and most humbled appreciations to the best group of folks around, I will keep you updated.

Very quickly, the nurse said to me the other day that when I leave (had to get clothes food etc) that when I return and am walking down the hall towards her room they could turn the lights out because I am beaming and when she sees me here pulse rate jumps. Hug all your little ones today people. Young or old, mad or happy, nothing ever feels better.

Much Love,
FDC

Thanks for the update!

You have my email if I can help you with any questions on rehab. That's what I've done almost my entire nursing career, and I've seen lots of injuries and recoveries. If I don't know the answer, I have a plethora of information at my fingertips. I have two good friends who are Physiatrists (MD specializing in Physical medicine and rehab), and I have many friends who are physical, occupational (wife included) and speech therapists.

She was injured horribly to say the least, but her young age and obvious strong spirit make her an excellent rehab candidate. Young people heal so much better than the elderly and so much faster.

I'm so glad she's doing well and for your obvious upbeat outlook. I would guess the old FDC wouldn't have been able to think of anything but putting this asshole 6 feet under. You seem like you're totally past those thoughts (someway; not sure I could be).

Thanks again for the updates and news, and please, don't hesitate to pick my brain if you want.

Your friend,

Clint

When I fire my pc up, this is the first thread I check every day for updates. Your latest post is great news. Please, if your family starts to feel the pinch from bills or what not, contact Jack to take up a collection. Anything to help you out through this horrific ordeal. Still praying for you two on this end.

Book,
I wanted to tell you that I am truly humbled and grateful for people like you and you especially. I bet Kristyn would love to see the beauty of Utah so you never know we may just take you up on that but I want you to know that you are an exceptional man..............from the bottom of my heart I thank you for your kindness.

Cris

Thank you, and God Bless. This 'horrible event' has made me look at me and my family, and got me to, "step back and look" at how great I do have it, and how lucky I am to have Kara, and my dog, Roxy... And my family, all whom are alive and well... (slightly insane though) I am touched you took the time to write me back and to let me know that my prayers were heard. Good luck to you, your daughter, and all of those affected by this tragedy. And I hope this piece of shit gets all he deserves and more in prison.

God Bless,

Bradford Gandelman

Hello and again thanks to all!!!!
Wanted to make a quick post and get some sleep. Kristyn is doing much better and I actually saw some spark returning to her eyes today as she has been more active, not always voluntarily, and has been blessed with many prayers and cards and gifts. The plan is to move her some time next week, if all continues to go well, to her rehab facility. Apparently they are very much in demand and very hard to get into but she is not ready to go yet. She has little or no memory of the event and is struggling with her speech and some of the simple motor skills. She continues to have a positive outlook and loves all her cards and teddy bears and is responding well to all the treatments and has developed no new infections. All cat-scans are looking good but there is still some inflammation so we can't get too excited or too down. All things point to a full recovery and as I told her, time heals all wounds.

I cannot thank you all enough for letting me come on here and unload all this stuff on everyone. It has been incredibly therapeutic for me as well as Kristyn. She said something to the affect of that she didn't know I had so many friends and I had to remind her that none of the cards and gifts were made out to me!!! I hope that God blesses each and every one of you and that someday I can return the favor.

Many thanks from Kristyn and myself. Goodnight all and don't forget to hug those that are close to you whenever you get a chance.

FDC,

Thanks for the update and I am happy to see things are on the mend! This is an amazing group that is here, and I wish you and your daughter many good days ahead. It is always healing to me to see the outpouring of good wishes, prayers, and thoughtful comments that come from people who feel they know each other, if only from some poster's words in a forum. This alone gives me the hope I sometimes need to carry on in my daily struggles. I am very happy this has become a sanctuary for you and your family and I wish yours again a speedy recovery!

Best,

Franky

Yep....great news......:00hour

And I am with lawtchan........what is the deal with that asshole? I hope he's not out on bail:nono:

I don't know how you do it fatdaddycool, if somebody did that to let's say my mother, I would not be able to contain myself, I'd be in jail for sure.

Also, did any of her friends get charged? I hope not.
