so far..1 play
1.) FRISCO minus 3....ofcourse this will be viewed as a public play and maybe a "to obvious" one...but i look at this game and see advantage niners in almost every angle...the niners on offense should have a field day with this secondary...the running game with the combination of hearst/barlow/jackson should keep the giants defense off balance...what i hope the niners(Mariucci) learned last year is that they can use thier passing game to open up the running game rather than the traditional vice/versa...if they had done that from the beginning against a questionable green bay secondary they would have won that game ...it was not until the fourth quarter that that they really started to move the ball....now if mariucci insists on running the ball even when its not working...which he did in a number of games last year...
1.) st louis game 2
2.) dallas
3.) green bay...to name a few
what do all those game have in common????
a niner loss....
with that being said ...i think the difference in this years niners team and the difference in this game is thier defense..take a look at the improvement on this side of the ball in say the last 5 weeks of the season last year...this is one angle we should all keep an eye on...the way the NFL is set up now..its seems teams that turn a corner within say the last 5 to six weeks of the season usually have a good run the next year...the niners had a good year but thier defense was going through growing pains for the first half of the season...but they turned it around towards the end of the year..i look for them to carry this momentum into this year...as for the giants they really look as if they are on a downslide with the releasing of a substantial number of veterans ...but again this could be decieving...because the NFL is set up for quick turnarounds ...but what really sticks out to me is the giants offensive line...i think it could truly be "OFFENSIVE" this year...and if that is true Collins will struggle and if he struggles im not convinced he mentally can handle it
a tip of the iceburg in this game...be back...
