"The device can be asleep, as in when you let it turn itself off or when you press the top ?off? button and it will still work. This is because its essentially in standby.

But it would not work if you have shut it down by holding the home button and the on/off button and then swiping the red slider to shut it off.

Why marine is obviously a pretty damn cool guy and a badass to boot. Had the same thing happened to me the story would go as follows, so I whipped this dudes ass that broke into my house, details, pics, audio of him begging me for his stinking life and more details.
Oh yeah, I hope I find some Ipads they may have stolen.

I'm more concerned with finding the missing ipads for my daughters right now than going into details on this. I need to get them back to restore some normalcy to my kids lives so the feeling of violation can pass quickly.

short version -
there was an altercation, he tripped and accidently landed his face on heavy objects. Numerous times.


Ipad question -

If i just go out and buy a new ipad and use the same email address to set the kids back up again, will it wipe out ever being able to use the Find my iPad feature on the old ones via the iCloud?

or will it appear that i have two ipads registered with the same email address.

yea, the challenge is that i'm a one hour car ride from the nearest apple store.

I understand the curiousity. The young man is just as curious as to what happened - I'm pretty sure he didn't even know I was right there on him until after I was already on him.
