So. Cal
Did anyone actually think this unibrowed clown was gonna lead them down the field to the superbowl. Give me a break, been saying it since I saw him as a starter in week 1 .. this team wins despite him. His main objective is not to lose the game, and guess what, he just did it.

right, his main objective was not to lose the game which is why this team faced an uphill battle in this game and they were in trouble the minute they relied exclusively on him (which surprisingly was from the opening snap)

however

he looks like he should be a pretty good qb for the future as he grows and gets more help.

We are all entitled to our own opinions. Flacco didn't impress me at all this year, especially in the playoffs. Congrats on beating teams like the Bengals and Browns. He did very little in the playoffs, and in fact cost his team the game tonight with some poor passes. Im sure his qb rating in the playoffs was in the 20's or 30's, but he did a great job leading them and all...

We will see, he had a lot of help from the defense who continually gave him great field position. I personally don't think he is all that great, people get enamored by a big arm..

I also am pretty sure that if the Ravens had a veteran leading this team they'd still be playing or might have even had homefield today. I doubt the Steelers or Titans or any other team for that matter worry too much about Flacco.

Oh, that's right. He beat the Dolphins at their house AND the Tits at their house. Memory lapses are convenient. Go be impressed. :mj07:

all season the guy was told to not lose the game, their running game & defense would do the rest...& he did......the guy impressed me.....he came from a small school (delaware) & started in the nfl the next year & took his team to the championship....what more can you ask from a rookie ?

This reminds me a lot of Vince Young.. 'He took his team to the playoffs'. Technically he did, in all reality..

Oh well, Good luck next year with him. :mj06:

And Fran Tarkenton....

And Fran Tarkenton....

Two-lips,

Please just admit you have no idea what you're talking about. A rookie QB out of Delaware is part of a Ravens team that most sportsbooks put at 8-8 or even 7-9 and probably not even making it to the playoffs.

You are annoying. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, until opinion is blown away by fact. Flacco helped the Ravens make it to the AFC C'ship game. Nuf said.

Go play golf. But considering your detached reality, I'm sure you're a chopper who can't break 90.

Like I said we'll see.. but to say he led this team anywhere is a straight up lie. Baltimore led the league in number of rushes per game, and they had a top 5 defense. The one time Flacco was asked to make plays since the run game was stopped he got exposed PERIOD. Watch the game, big ben made a ton of plays outside the pocket inside the pocket.. scrambling around, Flacco did absolutely nothing, except throw it to the Steelers.

How can you mention Matt Ryan and Flacco in the same breathe? I love when the run game rushes for 200 yards and ed reed returns 2 td's yet Flacco gets credit for the win. Like I said back in week 7 it was telling that some of the teams captains said they wanted Troy Smith at QB. I am done talking about this guy, not sure what he has shown anyone, except that he can throw it about 70 yards. Go look at the stats against real teams.

Dude your insane.
Throw the stats out the window and show me a QB that can win, period. Hell Big Ben's numbers are generic too but the guy makes plays and moves the ball when needed. Flacco has a strong arm and is smart and very calm for a rookie. If the Ravens get him more weapons to throw to then they will be tough to beat. You have no clue how hard it is to succeed in the NFL at QB. Look at all the superstars in college that fall flat on their faces at the next level. Flacco is a diamond in the rough that half the NFL teams would want.

Apparently you haven't watched any of their games this year.

They have lost 2-3 games this year because of horrible Defense / penalties to end the game.

They lead the league in Pen as well. Tough to do well when you are giving up a lot of yards.

Do you just watch one game that is on TV and decide on how a player is? I bet you think Adrian Peterson is a horrible RB too.

big part of the problem is that flacco has absolutely nobody to throw to....

ravens` opponents realize that flacco only has a 35 year old posession receiver as a reliable target....and they take him away...

why the great ozzie newsome stood pat on the wr front, with a potentially excellent young qb who needed somebody to throw to is the mystery to end all mysteries....

if clayton weren`t on the ravens,he`d be somebody else`s #4 receiver...

heap has such a history of injury that he`s a shell of what he once was(a very good injury prone tight end.....now he`s damaged goods)...

this has been the ravens` problem since they came from cleveland...

the qb`s here(up until now) have been poor...but,they haven`t had decent receiving talent since the original cleveland team(michael jackson and derrick alexander)......

i feel bad for flacco..

You are a joke.

Flacco has no one that can get open, no one to throw the ball too.

He has done a solid job all year and is going to end up being a good qb in this league.

It seems you have blinders on when you look at Flacco, and is this the first time you have seen him play this season?

Or is just the first chance you have to pile on him.

He led this team? :mj07: They won despite him. They ask him to make 2 or 3 plays a game. The coaches obviously have very little confidence in him.
In another portion of his recent interview with 2 Live Stews, Ravens linebacker/defensive end Terrell Suggs was candid about the team?s rookie quarterback, Joe Flacco.

Suggs thinks Troy Smith should be the team?s starting quarterback, not Flacco.

At a minimum, Suggs wants to see packages for both quarterbacks.

?I think he should get some playing time, but I think Troy should be the starter,? Suggs said.

?[Flacco] started out hot, [but] I mean we played two teams [Cincinnati and Cleveland] at the bottom of the league in defense, so everybody was going all crazy about him.?

After those first two games, coach John Harbaugh named Flacco (whom Suggs calls ?Shane Falco?) the starter for the rest of the season.

Don't believe me, believe one of the team captains.

You can't present an argument like this with some of these idiots who actually try to handicap. Ihave been saying the same thing about McNab for ten years. If Mcnab like Flacco didn't get drafted by a team with a dominating defense he would have been out of the league years ago.. Opposite story with Tim Coach and Akillies Smith. They got drafted by teams with terrible defenses and u couldn't hide their play for five years like Mcnabs was. Same thing is happening with Flacco.

ha, look at Eli's wide receivers.. you don't hear him bitching. Go look at Vince Young's.
Hell, the other wr's besides reggie wayne shouldn't even be in the league, and Peyton is unbeaten.

Flacco is just vastly overrated. Last year the team was a run / defensive team and Flacco managed the game.

Last 4 games 1 td 4 int
He is an average at best qb.

Yea your right , its the defenses fault.. that Flacco has scored 7, 16, 15,20 and 0 the last 5 games :violin:
They will miss the playoffs this year.

I did not see where Flacco is bitching, you are the one who continues to trash him.

He is in his second year out of a FCS school, and his best wide receiver is at best a decent route runner.

He has a very young line in front of him as well.

But continue to trash him and compare him to Eli and Peyton, that seems fair.

And outside of Mason and Clayton no other wide outs for the Ravens would have jobs elsewhere.

Kelley Washington was a man without a team until the ravens signed him.

The bottom line is the kid is in his second year, and most everyone still thinks he is going to be successful.

I am not sure what you are expecting him to do with what he has, and the amount of experience he has.

I don't see much difference in the second year of these two.

you saying that after 1 and 3/4 years on a team with one legit wide receiver...a guy that won two road playoff games as a rookie....

should be out of the league?...

spongy, now`s the time for you to invoke a timeout for yourself and sleep it off....
