Isn't the UFC defined by weight classes these days? If so, I would still take my chances with PBF.
but no boxer would ever do it......ever:SIB
Jesus christ are all Canadians this ****ing dumb?
Youre like one of those D&D gamers or whatever theyre called, off in your own little world. You think your geeky wannabee sport is just the bomb.
You can think whatever you want to think but the fact of the matter is UFC fighters are bums.
They are more athletic than boxers? You are truly beyond help. They are talentless bums who cant fight with their hands so they have to try to learn a different method. If you want to think they are special you go right ahead. Its your fantasy world.
As for Mayweather, and boxing struggling as a sport -- they are projecting that the fight this weekend will break the PPV record, and the purse could hit 50 million, these guys are doing very well for themselves. Do not think UFC will be offering that kind of cash anytime soon.
Boxing tougher sport than MMA
Muay Thai tougher sport than MMA
Freestyle wrestling tougher sport than MMA
Greco Roman wrestling tougher sport than MMA
Judo tougher sport than MMA
Brazilian Jiu Jiitsu tougher sport than MMA
Sambo (Borba Sambo) tougher sport than MMA
In no way do I mean that any of the above sports are tougher in terms of requiring more skill, talent, athleticism, conditioning, speed, explosiveness, power, or strength. They are tougher simply for the fact that you are locked into one paticular skill set and you have no options but to compete based on the rules of that sport.
MMA is the TRUTH for the fact that it has the most real world application it's not even a debatable fact.
Almly seriously get a clue. The human leg is longer than the human arm, the distance a low kick has to travel to a lead leg is shorter than the distance a fist has to travel to the chin, it's why the leg kick is one of the best weapons in MMA. Slipping one doesn't apply like slipping a head kick it's apples and oranges. Have you ever seen a traditional Muay Thai match? If you have you would understand distance and see how effective what they refer to as a "teep" kick is for maintaining it. You seem to be under a misconception that MMA fighters don't understand the basic principles of stance, distance, circling, and footwork.....it's not like they stand in the octagon or ring with their feet glued together leading with their face. Not to mention they wouldn't stand there and trade with a great boxer, they would clinch take it to the ground and have their way, it's impossible to KO someone when they have you in a greco clinch or on the ground. You may not be aware but MMA is loaded with former Sambo world champions, BJJ world champions, NCAA champion wrestlers, Olympic Judo medal winners, Olympic Freestyle and Greco Roman medal winners. These are eltie level grapplers who can take down other elite level grapplers at will, how in the world do you think someone with absolutely no grappling skill will be able to avoid being taken down? Next time you get into a scuffle stand there and try to follow the Marquess of Queensberry rules and see how well it works when someone slams you through the ground and chokes you out.
Dana White has offered Mayweather the chance to fight Sean Sherk.... the lock of the millenium is that the fight wouldn't even last 3 minutes and Sherk would destory him. BM your my boy but I def disagree on that one, Shamrock in his prime would destroy Tyson and submit him at will it wouldn't even be close. Back in the 90's when Tyson was claiming to be the baddest man on earth and Shamrock was fighting in Pancrase in Japan and the early UFC....Shamrock challenged him to numerous fights and even went as far to submit the following to Tyson and his camp. "If Mike Tyson thinks he is so tough. I challenge him in a charity match in the octagon, if he beats me i'll donate one million dollars to any charity of his choice. But if I beat him then he has to donate one hundred thousand dollars to my charity." Tyson would never accept just like Mayweather will never accept the challenge.
I used to be biased having grown up with boxing. It is the first sport I was introduced to as a child and ever witnessed live in person or on TV. My great grandfather was a professional prize fighter and my uncle was a city golden glove champ. As long as I can remember it was my favorite sport and I still enjoy it, but to deny that it's on the decline would be stupid. MMA is on a meteoric rise, is a better sport, and is the future.
