Another way of measuring depth, look at the college playes going pro. Do they shoot to the top? No. It's about the same for men and women. People like Burdette, who has had more success than most, still find the tour very, very challenging. They have to work their way up. If there were no depth in women's tennis, these fresh grads would be inside the top 50 in six months and the top 20 in a year. There are too many good players for that.

Look at Oudin with her one freak result at 16/17. It has taken her years to get back inside the top 100. Stephens had a great result, now she is struggling to back it up. You don't find these teenagers coming out of nowhere going straight to the top like you used to. Women's tennis is highly competitive and loaded with good players. I honestly don't care what you say because I've watched it and I know what I see.

I get what you're saying. I don't know why you can't comply with a simply request: give me some sort of definition of depth. How do you measure it?

I can only suspect the reason you don't want to is that I can immiedately use the men's tour to prove you wrong, as I have today with competitive vs non-competitive matches, since you seem to think pro tennis is akin to factory piecework and the players should be stamping time cards.

Both tours have a pretty clear hierarchy. The top few dominate, the rest are varying levels of mediocre.

I can smell what the Sock is cooking: a delicious GRASS STEW. Oh. yeah.

But first...need Serena and Nadal to cruise to the title.

Sun:

1st set O 9.5 -140
2.8/2
Ferrer, hang tough.

15 of their 24 1st sets have hit at least ten......only 9 of the 17 on clay though....1 of the 2 roland garros one did

i think ferrer loses in 3, but hope he keeps the 1st set close for ya

they've played 17 times on dirt and ferrer has won 7 sets, and rafa has won 36.
