who gives a shit what a sportsman he is or what a gentlemen he is

and you have zero idea what the pros would say behind closed doors about if he was the best ever...i'm sure nadal would say no...joker would say no

fed championship opponents where he won:

mark phillipousos
marat safin
andy roddick 4 times
leyton hewitt
andre aggasi
marco baghditi...lol
nadal 2 times
fernando gonzalez....lol
joker 1 time
murray 3 times
soderling

he has 6 wins in a major final against anyone with a pulse that could be considered one of the greats

nothing that impressive there

8 of nadals 11 majors have been won against fed or joker

nadal is 6-2 against fed in major finals....how can you not see that nadal is better than fed

fed won at least 7 or 8 finals against nobodies....and nadal owned him. He's not even better than nadal so how can he be the best ever he's not.

argue all you want about what a great sportsman he is, but he used to throw raquets around too and be a bitch.

in theory......fuck fed....he owes his career to roddick.

Actually we do.

At end of every year ATP player council sends out questions to the Top 200 in singles and Top 100 in doubles. Every year some questions are the same, some are different. All done my hidden ballot.

In December the question was asked "Who is the best ever"

92 percent of all the players said Fed was the best to ever play.

So again, we do know.

Anyway there shouldn't even be a debate on this matter, Fed is so far and away the best ever to play tennis it isn't even close. I don't know why you are even bothering to argue the point. It is so clear Fed is the best ever.

Fuck you could poll every single male tennis player to ever have a ranking and Fed would get almost every vote.

Same goes for pretty much every coach who has coached on the ATP Tour. Take members of the media almost all of them would say Fed.

It isn't even close.

By the way thought I'd throw this in as well.....I remember one year when the players voted and it was like somewhere around 97 percent for Marcelo Rios as being "the most disliked on tour".

Rios was even worse the Serena.....yes even worse then that piece of shit Serena. That tells you how bad Rios was.:scared

Rios was one of the biggest douchebags in all of sports actually. He was scum.

And oh yeah........

cool

you still can't convince me fed is better than nadal....he'll only be 5 majors away in about 10 days with about 4 years left in his legs at least. He'll pass fed and then we can resume this argument.

Were talking about now.

Not 2 years not 5 years and not 10 years from now.

Sure 10 years from now it may be different.

But as of today, it is Fed......by far.

By the way Soderling won "most disliked three years in a row":142smilie

I miss Soderling, sucks what happened to him....remember what he did at the French one year:scared

I also think Fed is the best ever in a historical sense, obviously not currently..

Kick, your arguments suck

If I had to hire someone to debate why Fed is the best, it would definitely not be you

pulling up an opinion poll is not a good argument

I'll chime in, after some beers:
Fed is obviously great and he has to garner some points for being insanely consistent, and at the top over a long period. The time that he has been healthy and kicking ass is without question.
That said he has an inferior record against the best of this generation, when healthy, Nadal.

It's hard to appoint him the greatest when he has an inferior record against his top rival/competitor - Nadal. Of course Nadal is arguably in his prime now so take that into consideration versus an aging Fed.

You must also think about the use of PED's or steroid's lets not kid ourselves.

In conclusion I would say there is no best of all time in any sport, but a best of an era and Fed would be hard to argue against for the past decade or so.

What do you guys think of Monfil's chances against Robredo, I really like him at -195.
I'll admit i'm not up to snuff on Robredo but Gael is high as a kite. I'm thinking 20/10 is not half bad?

if monfils loses to robredo he will have beaten himself

robredo tries to play clean and counter punch, it works well against idiots like james blake who justs tries to smash the shit out of everything every time

True, but Robredo can play aggressive when he wants to. Robredo is a wiley vet and knows what it takes to win. Also I will never forget seeing Robredo win a match with two broken ribs. He was in an enormous amount of pain, match was tied 5-5 in the third and he took a terrible fall and smashed his ribs against the net post.

He didn't retire, he somehow lasted another ten minutes and won the match on two broken ribs. I have never ever bet against him since that match. The guy has a huge heart and fights like a motherfucker.

Oh and he's a super nice guy and gets more pussy then snoopol.

it seems logical monfils wins. i just can't believe the real monfils won't reemerge. i've never seen a match, until yesterday, where he didn't act the clown and hit a number of unnecessarily low-percentage shots. they say his dad has talked some sense into him. under control, damn, that was an impressive win over gulbis. i didnt see berdych, but that obviously was too. no reason he can't do robredo same way. not for me, though, i'll just watch.
