Phil.......

Phil.......

Another thing that scares me about young teams is their legs.....but I honestly believe that Coach Barnes did an excellent job of resting Ford with Freddie Williams which could turn out to being the key tonight but who knows.....I'm thinking Phil that this could be the best game on the slate tonight possibly.

i have won with tx the last 2 games posted here and also on the ducks, have did ok with both throughout the year.

when it gets this late in the season have to make a choice sometimes against a good team which tx is.

have have watched both team a good bit and tx likes to run up and down more then a slower game, and the ducks only have 1 speed and that is 1.

from the arch they both hit alittle better then 32%so they are not afriad to put it up.

the last 2 match ups i feel tx changed up some due to being stronger then bc in side and after they jumped out to the 23 point lead against miss,st they tried more of an inside first outside 2nd and almost cost them. tx can go on some great streaks and thats where they bother me at times they can go on a 16-2 or so run or they can go 3-4 mins with out hitting a shot.

erskins 3 pointer late in the game against miss.st was they key in holding off state at they end and he started out 7-7 to help the horns jump out to the 23 point lead. as he goes so will the horns.

playing in big d didnot hurt them either but they are a good road team so it wasnot why they moved on ,they moved on because they are a good team and ifnot for a key injury was 1 of my top teams to be in it till the end, well they over came that and are still here, they have to's that hurt them in key spots throughout the year. the avg 72 on the rd as opp to 86 at home,so they tend to run more freely at home as most teams do.

the ducks have the big 3 that i really like in jones, jackson and ridnour. these guys donot get seen in the country except on the west cost and being from the east coast i know how that is not many people are going to watch a game starting at 11 or 12 at night. but these 3 can play and it is very hard to shut all 3 down.i feel that in the end they are more athletic then what tx can throw at them, and they go deeper in key mins with other player the have 8 guys with over 11mins a game,so they can go to their bench alittle longer and do to keep fresh legs in the game, thats why i said i think the ducks will try to run the horns out of the gym,and late in the 2nd half you will see the ducks extend imo.

so after all the babble to a simple ? tx prefers to run and gun first as opp to working the ball in as there first look.

i am still thinking about ov i see it about 88-81 range for the duck but wouldnot be surpised to see 105 -103 either if it happed, the ducks deff is not afraid of giving up the points.

like i said i think the big 3 have to much for the horns, and all you horns fans this isnot a knock or from a fan this comes from a handicapping veiw from me i think tx has played great for what they have had to over come but to many cold streaks for me to take a short line,if i was going to play tx i would take the ml,because i don't see a 2-3 point game win by the ducks if they win it should be by alittle more then the spread due to late foul shots and tex having to hang a 3,then maybe a miss and foul shots again that type of thing,so if you want the horns just take the ml because it will be an outright win.

good luck hope this helped.

no cracking on my spelling or grammer :D not a big write up guy:)

and just think...texas had a double digit lead in the second half vs Az.....then TJ went down, and no Fredie...and that was all she wrote...Az made a nice run to beat the Horns there....

SDF........

SDF........

Very true.....EXCEPT.....you forgot to add IVEY to that list.....Texas was without FORD, IVEY, and WILLIAMS in the second half...That's 2 starters and 1 key reserve.....What team can win a game without these type of players against a quality opponent?

Fletch thanks for the write-up it sounds good and all but I just think that the HORNS defense is going to be too much for UO tonight.....UO plays no defense and Texas has played these type of teams all year long and fared well. Watch for Ivey to shutdown Jones tonight as he is the longhorns defensive perimeter specialist.

As far as the Miss St. game goes, if anyone watched it they saw ST. put a 1-3-1 zone defense that worked on Texas because TJ wasn't attacking it like he was suppose to.....

He learned from that and I dont think that will happen again if UO decides to go that route.

FLETCHER-GREAT WRITE UP AND REASONING. I AGREE WITH YOUR REASONING. I LIKE OREGON FOR A MEDIUM PLAY. BUT THAT TOTAL IS WAY TO LOW. WILL TEXAS SLOW OREGON OR VICE VERSA.I JUST DO NOT SEE IT. TEXAS HAS SAID THEY ARE ARE PLAYING A UPTEMPO GAME AND THERE GOING TO HAVE TO. THE BIG 12 IS A GREAT CONFERERENCE AND IS FUNNY HOW PEOPLE GET SO FIRED UP ON THERES. I PERSONALLY THINK THE SWAC IS THE BEST. GL TONIGHT

I just used that link to the Ducks sched........overall they were just a couple of shades above pathetic on the road. However, they played better on the road as year went on, finishing the regular season sweeping the dreaded LA doubleheader. Not to mention they just beat Wake on a neutral site.

I think this game depends on the refs......If they let em play, I'd love the points with the more physical/tough Longhorns. If they call it tight, texas will have to finesse it, they can't outslick Oregon. I think the refs let a lot of stuff go in the OU game and it eventually broke Arizona.

Would tend to think they'll be swallowing whistles tonight......That's why I would choose Texas. But since I'm basing my pick on the mood of referees, I personally will stay away.

Hope this had some value. Good luck to all ya

NH......

Very nice point....Did you see how White for OU was all in Gardner and Walton.......If the Refs let TX bang like they did in that game......TX will win bc that's the type of Defense they love to play.....A very physical and scrapy bunch of young men......

HOOK'EM BABY!!!!!

Got my 18-pack on ice and will pop a top at 6:55 CST!!!

GLTA!!

That's what my question about the refs was about.......unfortunately, texas game is game 1. If same refs do the KU/Ill game, I think you could gain an edge in that in my opinion, Illini are more physical and suseptible to foul trouble than KU. If they let that game go, KU could get pushed around.

Something to think about.

Don't think that was his arse he was speaking out of. From earlier in this same thread:

"I have said this over and over again that teams playing in the tourney from the BIG 12 have an advantage over other teams in other conferences due to the amount of quality teams that have to play in conference and undoubtedly paying off......."

What does that have to do with conference histories? I'm talking about 1 year here not the past 10.......please learn how to decipher(sp?) between the two...
