in view of the fact you "Lost" a good friend I would highly suggest you list your qualifications for being a good friend before asking for any applications.

Your next friend may want to accept the position on a temporary basis until you can prove you will not "Lose" him or her also.

Now of course if this friend died or kicked you to the curb then you may want to start by coming clean about those circumstances before seeking a friend to replace him or her.
