Lawfully, it?s easy to get the appropriate papers for an emotional support dog, and it is not lawful for anyone anywhere to ask to see it. Your dog doesn?t even have to have a vest.

I don?t have a problem with emotional support dogs. They work. If a person needs emotional support, they will need it the most on an airplane.

I don?t like the elitist service dog crowd who think their animal has more rights. Guess I?m in the minority here

If you are too mentally fragile to step foot onto an airplane without the "support" of an animal by your side, you should not be allowed on an airplane. I have no doubt they work, but that doesn't justify them traveling by commercial airplanes. Furthermore, if you NEED an emotional support animal I would argue you represent a potential hazard.

Just make weed legal in all major airports. I'm sure a few big hits will do the trick better then a service dog.

Even people who aren?t nervous and are completely emotionally stable become anxious on airplanes. To say a person doesn?t have the right to fly because they are emotionally unstable or severely anxious doesn?t seem too fair to me. I have tried to care for so many people with emotional problems in my career. Their fears are real to them, and I?m all for using an animal to help rather than throwing benzos at them especially when it works so well.

What a first world problem this is; being inconvenienced by a small dog on an airplane. Americans are so selfish. We take so many things for granted.

As mentioned; I have been bothered by far more undisciplined children on planes than dogs. I also would have said something to this idiot yyz encountered. What a stupid tool she is letting an unruly dog do whatever it wants. People are the problem, not the service dogs.

I have never smoked pot, but I wouldn?t have a problem with pot legalization. It?s very medicinally sound; it?s much better for u to take a few hits off a joint than to have multiple drinks.

To say a person doesn?t have the right to fly because they are emotionally unstable or severely anxious doesn?t seem too fair to me.

But it's fair to inconvenience 200 other people so the delicate flower can bring their dog? It's amazing to me that we have come to a point in this country where everyone must be inconvenienced because of one person.

Flying is not a right, it's a convenience for those of us who need to get from here to there. I have to put up with your dog/chicken/spider/pig because you are too good to be medicated for a flight YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ON?

If you are "emotionally unstable" to the point you can't fly without support then fucking drive. It worked for John Madden all those years.

I simply cannot believe the lows we've sunk to in this country and the number of people who support those lows going even lower.

How are 200 people inconvenienced by a small dog? Get real. Delicate flower? Mental illness/depression/anxiety etc are all real. Just be thankful u don?t have them. You?re the perfect stereotype of a selfish American who only cares about himself.

I can?t believe the lows we have sunk to where we don?t care about others. Just drive is not an easy option for many reasons.

On the course!
People are the problem, not the service dogs.

I would agree 100%

I do have to wonder how all of these people manage for the first 100 years of flying?

And I don't think it's selfish to not want others to be selfish. If you are getting your animal on the plane under the guise of needing comfort, I think that is the highest form of selfishness.

I think there is a reason people like animals more than other people: Animals aren't assholes.

Listening to a dog bark during a 4 hour flight might be music to your ears, but the rest of us don't want to hear it.

You claim it's low to not care about others, well, ok, how about that ONE person care about the rest of us who don't want their dog barking, or shitting on the floor, during the flight? Why doesn't your immense amount of caring work both ways?

Again, flying is a privilege, not a right and it's usually a pain in the ass to begin with, why make it worse for everyone so one person can drag their dog along that is likely not there for support anyway?

I'm with the OP and Delta, fuck your support dog.

I've never heard a dog barking on a plane. I've heard many babies crying that was extremely annoying.

There are many more things that bother me about people at airports than the babies and dogs.

I would rather listen to a barking dog than an asshole pretentious ?businessman? using a Bluetooth setup while talking so loudly he drowns out the conversations of everybody within 100 yards.

Not to mention his 2 or 3 carry ons that holds up boarding and exiting. Talk about people that don't give a shit about anybody but themselves.

But Clint, why are you not sensitive to those of us that do not want to fly with your dog in the main cabin? Do our feelings not count?

This is the problem with feelings. You can't manage or govern by them. It's just not possible. You do what's fairest for all parties involved. I'd love to fly around the country with my dog, but I'm not a selfish dick.

That person's a selfish dick, just like the one with the dog. The chances of him shitting in the aisle are typically lower.
