The Pittsburgh Penguins did a great job honouring Adam Johnson
Freak accident, very sad.
Note: Same thing would have happened to the Buffalo Sabres Clint Malarchuk (meaning he would have died as well) if there wasn't a former Vietnam War medic in the crowd. Malarchuk was about 2 minutes from death, maybe even less than that.
Oh and I won't post the Johnson or Malarchuk videos, those two vids are tough to watch.
Yes you are right, I confused the two that were involved. One of the Sabres trainers was a Vietnam War veteran (medic). I meant to say there was a Doctor (Surgeon) in the crowd (behind the net) that was watching the game with one of his kids. When Malarchuk was taken off the ice, he jumped down out of the stands and saved his life. Malarchuk himself has said if that trainer wasn't a former medic, and if that Doctor wasn't in the crowd, he would have died right there in the Arena.
If you watch the video you can see the trainer rush the ice and he immediately knew what to do, if he wasn't there, Malarchuk would have died right there on the ice.
