DJV - finally we agree. One of the biggest failings of the Bush administration has been their absolute inability or rather REFUSAL to deal with the border problem. It is costing the taxpayers billions of dollars a year in California just to deal with illegal aliens. Bush won't lift a finger to help us. That, my friends, is true and the fact that I agree with DJV is even more astounding. Thanks for bringing up an issue that is not often discussed outside the western United States. And while we are at it, can we close the borders between the US and Canada, if and only if, I Love WR is trying to sneak in? Of course, that isn't likely because MOST Americans are not too bright.

There is only one way to stop illegal immigration. Force employers to pay illegals the same as US citizens or minimum wages with corresponding benefits. Then there is no incentive for employers to higher cheap illegals. Saying that Americans won't work these jobs is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Americans used to work these jobs, but when the price to pick fruit has not increased in 15 years because illegals have driven the labor down, nobody is willing to work for below minimum. Example when I used to pick cherries as a kid it was $0.20 a pound. Today it is $0.20 a pound still. It would be like $1.00 or more a pound if it kept up with inflation, and the same gringos that used to work the fields would be out there again if you could make that money.

Second illegals are not good for our economy. Last year in Oregon Illegals sent back 218 MILLION dollars to mexico. Thats 218 MILLION that was not reinvested into our economy, but sent out of state.

Take this as an example. We can higher Indians from india that have a PHD in chemistry,physics, math,etc. and speak unpeckable english for half the salary we pay our high school teachers. If we did this for 10 to 15 years nobody would want to be a teacher because the pay would be so low and it would soon be branded a job that only cheap foriegn labor does because the "american" won't work that job.

Stop saying that illegal immigration is either good for this country or that we "need" it for our economy. Last time I checked Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, etc. have perfectly happy economic lives and jobs without mass illegal immigration.

Wish I could see what a freeway looks like nowadays. Seems like the media and the Kerry lovers are overly sympathetic towards the terrorists. For all this time posting in madjacks I don't think I've ever seen one democrat whining and bitching and complaining about the Muslim terrorists. Never one fuccking peep about the terrorists who are chopping off American heads. Never one peep about Al Queda. All I hear is you Aholes critisizing our President.
