emu vs toledo

hellah, i was wondering if u had some info on toledo as i followed them closely last year when u used to do write ups on them, but other than them losing a lot of starters and losing chester taylor i do not know much about this years team. Did u already make a play on EMU? Any info u have we would be great as i was thinking of making a play early on EMU Thanks.

djv - I think NIU has value...but Iam laying off. During the Wake game...the Wake OL kept on chop blocking(and not getting called for it) and 2 starters got hurt from those cheap shots. I dont know how it will effect that defense. Thomas Hammock should be able to run all over the Bulls though. I dont know much about S. Florida which is the main reason Iam laying off.

buckeye fan - Toledo this year are young fresh athletes. Who they lost were the backfield which were Chester Taylor AND Antwann McCray...lost the QB...and most important of all...lost the WHOLE DLine. Last game they played alot of true freshman. They will again play those freshman come this Saturday. Toledo was never good at covering spreads in the first place...Toledo has alwyas had problems winning in Yipsilanti no matter who the coach was or who the personell were. After watching them against Mich. St...I learned a lot from that game. Eastern did move the ball... BUT MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL...They DID NOT Turnover the ball. So I think there is alot of value with Eastern as long as it doesnt dip under 21 points. Toledo also lost Todd France the all-american kicker. The guy they have now(should be me) is very inconsistent...he`s not a deep threat.

Can't pull the trigger on Kent. They've been crushed everytime they played a Big 10 team. They even had a little trouble with New Hampshire last week. Top that off with the OSU trends below and I can't do it:

OHIO ST is 8-2 ATS (+5.8 Units) in home games after gaining 275 or more rushing yards last game since 1992.
The average score was OHIO ST 39.6, OPPONENT 7.7 - (Rating = 0*)

OHIO ST is 5-1 ATS (+3.9 Units) in home games after gaining 300 or more rushing yards last game since 1992.
The average score was OHIO ST 39.0, OPPONENT 5.8 - (Rating = 0*)

OHIO ST is 12-4 ATS (+7.6 Units) in home games after gaining 5.5 or more rushing yards/attempt last game since 1992. The average score was OHIO ST 35.8, OPPONENT 10.9 - (Rating = 0*)

OHIO ST is 25-12 ATS (+11.8 Units) after outrushing opponent by 125 or more yards last game since 1992.
The average score was OHIO ST 33.3, OPPONENT 11.8 - (Rating = 0*)

well i wont argue with ya....but I just dont understand how you can bet with numbers! Doesnt make any bit of sense what so ever. People lose there ass betting numbers...lol as a matter of fact, my friend has a Marc Lawerence book with trends and shit...and he loses his ass every damn week cuz of those numbers. Cooper - Tressel...hmmmm. They certainly had better players too. I`ll gladly take Kent St.....hell the early money is on Kent St, you gotta respect the early move....you gotta or you`ll be burned.

Hellah,
'm not just looking at the numbers for trends. I keep those in consideration. I believe the coaches know each others tendancies here too, and if it wasn't for the running game that OSU showed last week and the fact that Kent gave up 166 yeards on the ground to New Hampshire I wouldn't be so worried. New Hampshire also didn't have any 310 Lb. lineman with speed. Maybe if this was at Kent and not at OSU I would bite. I think they get the deer in the headlight look when they see over 100,000 screaming fans. The largest crowd any Kent team went before was 86K and I think they got beat 55-7 or something like that. :walk: Give me some more data that makes you comfortable with this game. I keep an opened mind on this stuff. Hey intangibles sometimes are way better than the stats.

I mean I dont care if you bank this or not....butttt Josh Cribbs will stick that football up Ohio St's ass....youve never seen this young fella...but he`s fast and has a arm....the only freshman to pass and run for over 1000 yards. Pretty hard to prepare for team that runs the option, or so Tressel says...

I agree from what I read this kid is great and obviously I've never seen him play. He and his line are goind to be going up against some pretty fast 300 pounders. You think they can handle it. I'm also not sure they can stop OSU - that's my biggest concern. Do you think OSU will back off because the coach respect? I think OSu may even be a little flat. Surely a possibility.

Iowa Lost 51-0
Georgia Lost 56-3
West Virginia lost 45-6, 34-14
Pitt Lost 52-14, 30-23, 30-7
South Carolina Lost 77-14
Purdue Lost 45-10
Marshall Lost 42-17(H), 42-7, 26-16 (H), 34-12, 42-21(H)

The scores are 1995 to 2001. They have improved over the years and are having their best streak as far as wins go. I think I'm a spectator in this one. I've got no balls!!:(

hey fellas iam up in Yipsi ready to go to the stadium. What the fawk is up with Kent St running the ball at the end of the game...damnnnnn and Tressel running up the score like that....when was the last time OSU put up 50

I see I lost West Virginia as well...bad day...just a bad fawking day so far.

Won Central...but now Iam 0-5 in fawking middles...I cant win a damn middle

Iam adding Northern Illinois +7.5.

Geppi - Good man....laying off Kent St. Kent was moving that ball on OSU like it was nothing though. Fawk OSU...Wazzu is gonna beat them good....Kent St was doing very very very well against OSU 1st team Defense!! but a turnover and blocked punt killed this spread. OSU still doesnt impress me...I still say they only win 8 or 9 games.

Skies are clear here in Yipsi....oh shit Miami just hit a long ass FG...damn I hate Miami(FL).

oh for all you Miami(OH) hatters....what ya think of them now...although they shoulda won that game...they had 2 TDs taken away from them :p

Good Luck to all..
