My father is law loves poker, basically that's all he does. He's not a professional but he play 5 days a week and that's basically his life. His bday is coming up and I wanted to buy him a book. He has every book you can think of on strategy so I thought I would get him a book that was centered around poker but just about the stories if you know what I mean. Maybe a book by a pro that just tells about games they've been in and stories that happened during those games.

If I've made sense and you can help I appreciate it.

There is some highbrow computating in spots but a lot of good story told by one clever writer.

I loved all of the ones mentioned, especially the Stu Ungar book.... Amarillo Slim also has a funny book called Amarillo Slim in a World Full of Fat People" and I throughly enjoyed it.

You might try "Shut Up and Deal" / "The Big Deal" / "The Greatest Gambling Stories Ever Told" / "Telling Lies and Getting Paid"

Here's an old classic, if he's into that sort of thing.... "The Education of a Poker Player" by Herbert O. Yardley

I've got some more at home, but i can't think of them off the top of my head....
