I think I have gout boys, it fucking hurts...I woke up Wednesday morning and my foot was swollen, and I do not remember hurting it. I took some advil and limped around Wed, Thursday and today it really hurts. Has anyone had this before? I researched it on google and after work I am headed to get epsom salt and soak this mofo tonight, ice it and drink tons of water to flush the uric acid out of my body. Any other home remedies to try anyone know of? If its not better after two days of rest I am headed to the doctor for some relief.

Have a good weekend boys, I am sitting at home handicapping football, watching football and soaking my foot this weekend

Have had it for 15 years. Get some cherry extract or cherry juice. Lay off beer and take it easy on the protein. I have not had attack in 6 years since I got on allopurinol . Problem for you is you cannot start the drug until you are attack free. Colchicine helps reduce the attack. The only cream that worked for me was capsicum or cayenne ointment. Once I had attacks in 6 joints at one time. I feel your pain.

I wish I had some pain killers, my ankle and toe joint hurts like a mofo...thanks for the suggestions, I am not sure if it what it is, but I have every symptom:shrug: it hurts, I plan on no protein or alcohol this weekend, only water and tea, I drank about 64 ounces of water today so far. stopping at the store on the way home to get a few things to see if I can make this pain go away. Thanks again lowell

You should see a podiatrist. I thought I had gout too once, I went to the podiatrist and it turns out I had stress fracture. They will give you the best advice, not all doctors are morons only most of them are. I would definitely see a podiatrist if you want it healed fast.

Gout is horrible. I have taken care of patients so debilitated by it (in the hands) that they could not eat or wipe their own butt.

I think u should have already seen ur doctor.

I have heard the already mentioned cherry extract helps. Don't eat any of the gout causing foods u have already looked up. Good luck win it!

I agree
I have had gout for a long time. cherry extract or cherry juice helps. allopurinol will work in the long run (see your Dr you need a script) . indomethacin and naproxen - aleve . Short time help :0074 Don't take aspirin and NO beer :nono: Drink lots of water

Can you get a vaccine for it? My father inlaw had it. Very painful.

Capsicum cream is only thing that ever helped me with an attack. Attacks can take 10-14 days for system to get clear. Once you get some colchicine you take a pill when you feel an attack coming on.
8 years ago I had 6 joints swollen at one time and spent Christmas crawling to the toilet and slept in bathtub with warm water running over me. I have never felt so much pain in my life. Gout is the fucking Big leagues if you ever have it you will learn what pain is all about

I've never found anything other than medication to be all that helpful....the cherry juice never really did it for me. Indomethacin with cholchicine works best for me when it flares up.....The allopurinol has been successful for the last while for me, but it is a bitch introducing it to your system, and as said before, worsens things if taken during a flare.

I can relate with Lowell.....I get it in diffrent joints, often at the same time, but the knees are the worst for me. I had it so bad one weekend a few winters back, I blacked out from the pain going down our hallway trying to get from the bed to the shitter. It is literally crippling at times.

Once it is under control, the most important thing for me seems to be water. Lots and lots of water.

It fucking sucks.
