That's what the NY Times is reporting. They don't have any info on why, however. I've got to believe it's a personal issue, not a case of being drunk or saying f@#% on the air.

i like harold...thought he was an asset for espn...straight talk & not jive talk like some of the others.

Harold was not "black" enough for ESPN, and he gave way too much knowledgable insight into the games that he was covering. If you're not a complete caricature version of who you represent, then you are not wanted. He should have looked at his employer's golden boy, Stuart Scott, to see how he should have been acting.

I'm willing to bet that ESPN wanted him to come up with some catcy phrases for his broadcasts and he refused.

And just who does ESPN think they are going to use on the Little League World Series coverage now?
A friend of mine's son was on a team that went to Williamsport a few years back. My friend got to meet Reynolds and said he was even more genuine in person than he came across as on TV. Said he really enjoyed being around the kids and was not the least bit phony or pretentious. I've all but stopped watching anything on ESPN with the sound up, but since they show so much college football its hard to say I'll never watch them again.Haven't watched Sportscenter since they started ESPN news.

Harold was great. He actually provided insight into the game. That is a freaking joke canning him but keeping that racist clown stephen smith. Should have canned his ass. The guy is a dumb ass.

And yea lets see some more darts and dominoes while you are at it. Who is running that show. :com:

found this

my friend is a PA at espn and she said that there was something internal going on between harold reynolds and bonnie bernstein, she filed a civil suit against him for sexual harrassment and has acknowledged being "date raped" by him in the past.

Bonnie Bernstein??? :scared

If I am going to blow a job like ESPN on a sexual harassment case... Im going to go after Suzy Kolber or Colleen Dominguez... That way it is worth the time.

its going to come out sooner or later, so i guess i'll break it here.

he used steroids. end of story.

there is going to be a major cleanup among sports commentators as it is becoming common place among broadcasters. bonnie bernstein, chris berman, and michael a. smith are among others under suspicion for juicing on the microphone.

I wonder how she let herself be put into the postition to be date raped? Not condoning it but that is laughable. What a scandle if true. Maybe they can spin one of those funny commercials out of it. By the way I will take bonnie over susy or skin and bone starks. Bonnie is hot! :SIB

Did anyone read that ESPN history book from a few years back? Supposedly sexual harassment was (is?) rampant at ESPN. This was the -first- thing that came to my mind when I heard he got canned without explanation.
