Rugby returns Friday night with the commencement of Round 4. Looking to pick up where we left off last week, with me hitting a 6-1 weekend, and other contributors to this thread also making some big ???. :p

Check back around 18:00 pm GMT tomorrow night with the first of this weekends previews.

what's 18:00 GMT? What does that translate to in American time (either PST or EST)? :)

I'll kick off this week!

Main bet is Llanelli (-9) 5/6 with the Tote - they won by more than this at Sale last week + now Sale are out of the competition. Llanelli have always been strong at home anyway + I fancy a comfortable 15+ win - bet 4pts. :D

I've also had a 2pt treble Llanelli (-9), Glasgow (+7), and Leinster (-9). I also intend to back Leinster to win the competition outright - will post on this when I've had a proper look around.

Good luck
hoss

PS Parlayinn - games kick off at 730PM GMT (2 1/4 hrs from the time of this post if that helps  )

Parlayinn;
That is 11:30 Pacific Time (2:30 EST). You can adjust your time zone preference on their website. Also you can bet the Llanelli game in-running (interactive), although it's probably hard to follow on the internet.

Llanelli vs Sale Sharks (Stradey Park, 19:45 GMT)

The Scarlets were excellent last week up in Manchester, and only a repeat is possible here. They make just one change to the fifteen that started last Friday with veteran winger Wayne Proctor coming in on the wing to replace Tongan Salesi Finau.

England international Jason Robinson skippers the Sharks tonight, in what will be his first captaincy role in either rugby code. It is sure to be a supreme test of his leadership qualities, as the Sharks will be playing only for pride tonight, against a Llanelli team desperate for a win.

It seems the Tote are intent on throwing up these Friday night gifts for us. For all you guys abroad it is VITAL that you open a account with Tote.co.uk as it is getting increasingly easy to take advantage of their rugby compilers. I feel the Tote could be in for another bad night tonight.

1 Point Win Llanelli (-9) at 4/7 with the Tote

Glasgow vs Bourgoin (Glasgow 19:30 GMT)

The Scots are facing a must win game tonight, after their expected defeat against this French team in France last week. Having already beaten Sale at home this season, they will be looking to extend their home run, and condemn Bourgoin to their first Heineken Cup defeat of the season.

A play has to be made here, given that the French outfit are not as dominant on their travels as they are at home. Put this together with what will be freezing temperatures in Glasgow, and the French team Bourgoin may wish that they never made this trip tonight. Not a ML cert for the Scots, but they should stay within the Totes generous handicap of seven points.

1 Point Win Glasgow (+7) vs Bourgoin at 5/6 with the Tote

Hoss,

I suspect you got on the 5/6 early this morning. I know for certain that they were 4/7 at noon today. For the purposes of this forum I will show the price at the time of my post. Incidentally Hoss, how are you finding the Tote in terms of their liability levels on rugby??

I hate taking such a short price, especially on a handicap bet, but cannot see any different outcome than a good Llanelli victory.

Back after the games tonight, with tomorrows previews.

Good Luck :)

Crooky, I was indeed on first thing this morning - you've got to be with ricks like this around - I bet over the phone with them + to be fair they do lay a decent bet :D The best price around is to take -12 with Totalbet or UKBetting at 5/6, I'm confident that will cover too....I'm posting what I actually back, I just don't always get chance to get to a PC straight afterwards.

Incidentally, the Tote are min. trebles on non-live games, hence the reason I posted a treble (my bet) rather than any single on the Glasgow game - although it seems we are (as usual) in agreement with where the value lies ;) .

Other bets for the weekend now :

2pts e/w Leinster to win Heineken Cup 5/1 Stan James 1/2 1,2 - victory over Montferrand tonight wins them the group (just about) + they have a decent chance of getting home advantage for the 1/4 finals - I think that Gloucester in particular are too short in the betting + Leinster look the value play.

4 match bets:

3pts Calvisano (-32) 5/6 Stan James - Neath desperate for revenge + will look to rub Italians noses in it, but this looks a big, big amount to concede bearing in mind they have to get the win in the bag first + foremost.

4pts London Irish (-10) 5/6 Victor Chandler - Newport just held on at home + I fancy there'll be a big turnaround this time.

3pts Munster (-34) 10/11 P.Power - Viadana are obviously very poor - Munster need to do some catching up with Gloucester on try count + will hopefully go for the throat.

lastly,2pts Cardiff (+10) 10/11 P.Power- vs Northampton - Cardiff's side has been weakened a bit, but I had this handicapped nearer 4, so I've got to play!

hoss:)

season 11/15 +43.85pts

i see live betting for Llanelli is already off the board. Why is that? It's only 1/2 hour from start time.

I presume when you say off the board you imply there are no prices.

If so that is correct as "in-running" means when the game has started and not before.

All prices are available on "coupon list" upto stated kick off time.

i meant they took the "live betting" option off the board even though it was only 1/2 hour after the game started.

1-1 start to the weekend. Glasgow was a very easy winner, but in all honesty Llanelli never played like they are capable off, and were never looking like covering the handicap of nine points. Credit to Sale for putting in a gutsy display.

Back Later....parlay I hope you did not take that handicap of fourteen. I did not see your post before the game, but I would have recommended that you pass on that line. If you did not play tonight, then be patient because you will get your winners! :p

I thought we were a bit unlucky! True Llanelli weren't fluent, but going for a drop goal from right in front of the sticks in injury time would have covered the handicap!!! It got charged down 'cos they didn't see convinced they were going to try it! Didn't they know what the handicap was  :p

never mind at least Leinster won for the outright play (no trys though :( )

Hoss is right, there appears to be a time delay.

Bet365 were betting in running upto 65th minutes of play.

If you are going to play some european sports then may I suggest you open a couple of accounts. Both 365 and Tote are very secure companies with strong resources. Your money will be safe. You can deposit via credit card, bank card/transfer. I think both take neteller.

When setting up account request site (if given option) to have their page in GMT, that way no confusion.

I hope some of this helps.

e-mail me via my community home page if you wish to descuss off thread. I will help you in any way I can.

Just a quick update!! :D

When I handicap a game, I like to see the lines from EVERY possible book, before I can recommend a play. So far, only six of the twelve books I use have priced up their rugby. I will wait to see the morning lines before playing.

I am looking at a possible bet in the Leicester-Beziers match, and the Biarritz-Ulster games, and unless somebody decides to throw up a bad looking line, then this is likely to be it until Sunday.

Will post back in around seven hours from now! ;)
