Montferrand vs Bristol (Clermont, France, 15:00 GMT)

The Bristol shoguns (by no means amongst the English elite), face a game they simply must win tomorrow, to have any chance of advancing to the next stages. Leinsters victory over Swansea last night, guaranteed the Irish a top place finish, and home field advantage in the next round. Bristol will look to Leinsters victory against Montferrand in France last year, and know the French are not unbeatable at home. They name the same team that lost at Harlequins last week, including one of the worlds best half back partnership in Pichot and Contepomi.
Montferrand delay naming their side, as they look to secure only their second victory of the Heineken Cup campaign. I felt from the start that sports compilers were wrong to price up Montferrand as one of the pre tournament favourites, and they are way behind Leinsters domination of this group. Even victory tomorrow will not be enough for them, so we are back to the 'team with little to play for' against the 'team with everything to play for' scenario. On Friday night, this fact was not enough, but these sides are a lot closer in class than Glasgow were to Sale, so it is time to turn towards Canadian book Sports Interaction for the first time this season, and test out that Canadian $$-UK sterling exchange rate. ;) :p

1 Point Win Bristol (+16.5) at 17/20 with Sports Interaction (Please note a line of Bristol +17 available with Paddy Power at 4/6)

Montferrand 22-30 Bristol

Great to end the weekend with a winner. Todays easy victory means I finish the weekend on 4-1, and importantly hitting the only two point bet on Friday night. Another top weekend for Hoss whose input this year has been invaluable.
It is nice to see people now getting involved with the rugby. Very good to see that a North American book (Sports Interaction) is pricing up my sport.
Good news is that Round Six is just around the corner, starting on Friday evening. This is the last round before the top teams advance to the quarter final stages.
YTD will be updated in due course, and be sure to look out for the new Round Six thread starting soon.

Thanks for joining me this weekend!!
:)

Good work, Crooky!! Don't like backing sides away in France as a rule, but that was a very impressive win for Bristol.

I've got to laugh though - what must Sports Interaction think when they suddenly start copping for a load of bets out of thin air on a fairly insignificant european rugby match!!!

hope you guys stuck it to them good + proper!!!:D :D

looking forward to next week already!

hoss

ps I didn't realise the game had been rescheduled, but it got postponed again until Monday - so I think bets still stand! (if anyone wants to play...)

England, u.k.
Well done my man, great tipping. Hats off to you boyo.

I,ve been busy most of the afternoon and only settled down to watch sport when NFL started. Played three bets tonight, two unders and a side. Two winners helped, now going to sit back and watch the cricket.

You deserve a :toast: followed by the:drinky:.

I really fancy Gloucester next week. Like to see what the line is. I won't believe it if they have to give points away. The line should be no more 2.5 points.

Got to dash and have something to eat before the ODI.

Well done once again.

SIMPLY AWESOME

Neath 23-18 Beziers

This match was finally played last night, keeping the Frech waiting for over two days. I doubt whether Hoss played Neath last night. The fact that both teams had to wait around so long for the game is bound to have an effect on the way the game is handicapped, so I hope nobody played on this game.

The result also did not surprise me as I had the handicap in this game as about right.

This game concludes this weeks games, so it is on to next week and Heineken Cup Round Six.
