London Irish 32-29 Toulouse
Firstly, let me apologise to anybody who took my advice on this two point Toulouse play. I can assure you this was a major shcok to me, and where the Irish found the form to defeat my tournament fancies I do not know. If I handicapped the game again, I would still come up with the same reasoning.
This loss meant it is only the second losing week of the season. The fact that we had already hit both two point bets prior to this play, means it is only a very small loss.
There are some positives to come out of this weekend. Llanelli were very impressive on Friday night, and having tipped them up to win the tournament at 12/1, you could only get a best price of 6/1 this morning with the leading firms.
Toulouse defeat may be a blessing in disguise. It should give them the kick up the ass they need, and I believe a semi final spot is guaranteed for the French. They were still favourites at William Hill this morning at 11/4, before Leinster were cut into 5/2 favourites.
The Heineken Cup does not return until April. However, there is a lot of action to get our teeth into over the next few months and the profits will continue.
I hope to speak with you all very soon.
