I think Hitler's biggest mistake was taking on Russia and overreaching and taking on a two-front war.....
As far as bombing Japan and it's citizens during WWII.....that essentially crippled their war effort, destroyed the factories producing weapons we would have had to fight against, and cut our losses we would have suffered by having to make a landing like we did at Normandy.
Japan started all that $hit by invading the Pacific, so skip the sob stories about how many civilians died as a result of THEIR invading sovereign countries and starting that half of the planet on fire. If their country is in shambles for the next 100 years they get what they deserve.
If I'd have been president, the USS Missouri wouldn't have been anywhere near Japan....the Enola Gay would have flown missions as fast as we could crank nukes out, and all the radiation spent testing in Nevada and Utah would have went to good use making an example of Japan for future generations to see. Start a war with the big dog and you might get crushed out. Then the next coutry thinks twice about messing with the big dogs.
Too much negotiation these days.....83 warnings are given and 42 deadlines are put ahead.....the powers of the planet are spineless and the Saddams of the world know it....not only did he invade Kuwait, but he got countless warnings to back out and countless deadlines passed before action was taken.
Then when action was taken, HE WAS LEFT IN POWER!
WAY TO GO! Leave him in power, then put out all the oilwell fires, then go home, not bothering to collect from Iraq for war reparations.
Then 10-12 years later....decide he's an a$$hole and he has to go.
Dump another half-trillion on them. No plan for repayment this time either.
And rebuild their infrastructure. With American taxpayer money. :mj07:

You figure life would be the same for us had Japan or Germany won the war....that somehow we'd have been rebuilt by the axis and allowed to grow and prosper like they did after WWII?
