I hate taking short prices but Clijsters has been untouchable. I took +125 to win the WTA Championship but I would think anything above even money is reasonable.

Any thoughts?

Taking Petrova @ +710 to beat Davenport.

Considering Pierce to beat Clijsters @ +700 (a loss does not knock Clijsters out of the winners circle) but lately its been throwing away money to go against the Belgian.

I ended up taking Pierce to win the first match as Clijsters came out bandaged on her calf. Sure enough, Clijsters is looking a bit sloppy. Not to worry though because she can lose this and still win the tournament. I'm going to lock in 'live-betting' now that Pierce is up.

Sheesh....Kimmy looking horrible....something wrong with her I think. She was broken 3 times in the first set....easily.

Why didnt you say something before the match started? I probably would have taken a shot at that with those odds.

I hinted a possible play to open the thread. The bandaged calf thing was last minute. Is this not on TV in North America?
Regardless, the real Clijsters has just come out now. What a difference a set makes. She is kicking ass now. Glad for live-betting.

I cant see it, maybe they are going to show it tape delayed, i dont know. Regardless if Kim wins I might have thought about taking Pierce to win more, because I remember she was only +400 at the open and Pierce was hurt. But I also remember Kim destroying her at the open also, so that is why I wasnt really thinking about it. I also might have taken Kim to win 2-1.

Kimmy crashed down to earth.....blowing her serve for the W and losing in a tie-break. She was 2 different people out there. It looked like she was only playing at 80% but that should have been good enough.
Sorry I didn't push Pierce as a play in time Inzone. As you said...big odds if there was a physical problem with Clijsters. At this point I would say she does have a minor one but would not give up on her winning the tournament. In fact, I am sure the odds on her will be quite good when updated.

UT;
For me its because I saw her last couple matches and she showed a lot of heart. Worth the price.

To explain further, she finally got the monkey off her back when she won a tournament (the Generali Ladies Linz) a couple weeks ago and had a real shot at another win last week in Philly but pulled out of the semi's. Her retirement in that probably makes her longer odds than should be.
I am assuming she wouldn't have entered this tournament if she were not healthy enough to compete.

I think Anders meant Schnyder over Maria Sharapova...it was a tough match and Sharapova took it in 3 sets...

Adding a couple more units on Clijsters to win the tournament @ +210. If she can play 80% healthy, she wins.

Tonights matches;

I can't resist the big prices.....Schnyder @ +675 over Davenport.

Dementieva @ +141 over Pierce. 'Beauty over Bag'----that sounds mean.

For me, the price is too short.....just in case Clijsters is not herself as she wasn't for half of last nights match. I may look at 2-0 but won't take worse than -140.

Well those first 2 matches were hard to watch. Dementieva was ripped off at a crucial point but Pierce made her look way out of her league.
Snyder had no excuse....she doesn't belong in this tournament. Absolutely no killer instinct. 1 minute she looked like she was going to cry, the next she looks like she was just happy to be invited. Pathetic because this bird could actually win some big games if her mind weren't so immature.

Kimmie has small bandage on her right calf. Last night it was wrapped completely around. Commentators are saying it was the factor in her losing to Pierce last night.....mainly affecting the serve.

Bloody hell, Clijsters still having a lacklustre serve and she's eliminated.....calf was obviously quite serious. I can't figure out why she entered the tourney if she could only play at 50%.

Sorry to those that took her to win.

Is Kim actually done? What are the rules if there is a tie between the other three?
