Dementieva and Pierce would have to beat Mauresmo.....and Clijsters beat Dementieva....and then tie-break rules (can't seem to find these).

Even if she somehow got thru.....her serve his heavily hampered at the moment.

I'm kinda in a rut after yesterday but I would agree with you GG. Schnyder has the skills to win but somehow I think she has already lost in her own head.

A value bet in Sharapova @ +181 over Davenport for 2 reasons;

1) Davenport was given.....and I mean given her 2 W's. She didn't play that good.

2) Sure Davenport can play better if she has real competition but why exert herself? She is already in the semi's.

Oh man does Petrova look horrible! She is moving in slow-motion and looks very disinterested. These broads must get a helluva an appearance fee because neither look like they belong or want to be there....and the there's Clijsters playing on 1 leg.

Un-friggin believable. Petrova is sick or something and she stays out to lose 6-0 instead of retiring. The trainer comes out and takes her pulse and she looks like she's ready to puke or pass out. Then she gets up and serves to start the 2nd set.

Good ol Patty! All she had to do was win the 2nd set against a ZOMBIE to have a shot at the semi's and she blows it!!!!

Well the brain-dead (Schnyder) beat the walking-dead (Petrova) and in terms of quality, it was painful to watch and it cost a little $$.

But the Russian sweetheart (you shoulda seen her when she got angry :kiss: :142hump: ) makes it worthwhile with a nice win where the serious dough was. I would say tonight (Sharapova) was the best performance of the tournament thus far. Davenport did show that she can step it up when the competition is there despite losing.

Sharapova might be a good price to win the WTA now. She just threw the match to Petrova to end up 2nd in her group and it makes her look mediocre on paper. She wanted to play Mauresmo instead of Pierce. (had it backwards originally.....commentators were explaining the reasons she was throwing the match). The rumour is her dad gave the instructions as he is suspected of manipulating in the past.

In any other sport, a person who fixes the result or shaves points would be investigated....suspended etc.... Why should it be any different here? It was so obvious what she was doing. Her first set she had 73% first serves in and lost 6-1! They were all powder puffs (that's why the % was high). She never had a grunt in the whole game! And never even questioned any close calls....in fact she was smiling when they went against her.

Anyway, I'm hoping for +250.

I can't wait for the men's to see some real tennis played. (Mauresmo and Pierce looked like amateurs in their match too!)

I hate this game! The whole tournament sucked. There was only 2 competitve matches and I wouldn't be surprised if the final sucked too!

If I sound bitter, it's only because I am.
