Beginning to feel how Padraig felt all year - Laycock 2nd at 40/1 and Pampling 4th at 80/1, the annoying and rather stupid part is I put Allenby up on my site at 11/1 last week and Appleby this week at 14/1 - both beat my original selections into 2nd and I didn't put a single penny of my own money on either of them!

Final update #2: 1-4-0 and -5.46 units

Major fvck-up!!! The matchups that all won at the cut all lost ... the plays were against RICHARD Green

I don't know how I missed it, but I did. I capped these matchups as if the opponent was Nathan Green and paid the penalty. Leaney and Paddison both lost to Richard Green by one shot and O'Malley lost to him by three shots. Rather an ignominious end to the 2001 Australasian Tour for me

Made the same phuck-up on Chris Smith vs Jerry Smith a few weeks back. Capped for Chris, didn't realize the matchup was Jerry. Cost me two units, DAMN!

Happens to everyone at some point!

I once placed a bet over the phone with William Hill & Ladbrokes. I backed John Cook to win something.. in the betting as J Cook.
When 'he' had lost and I realised it was Jeff Cook.. I rang both bookies and complained that Jeff/John should be stipulated instead of J - I argued that as I had specifically said 'John Cook' - I should have my stake returned. William Hill returned the cash but Ladbrokes refused, saying I should have known which player was playing.
It is definitely worth repeating every part of any, names, place odds, etc. if making a verbal bet. On the internet surely it is up to the website to provide differences between players with different names. Depending on your circumstances, I would try for a refund.. in an unaggressive manner.

yeah, thats dodgy

have definitely seen bookies get golfer's names wrong, Charles Howell become David etc.
