Geoff Ogilvy (365) and Kevin Na (Stan James) both at 50/1. Got to be over-priced???

DL3 at 20s. Cant make my mind up, if he's going to do it i guess it'll be here but not sure if can forgive last weeks effort.

Honda Classic

Outright plays (total stake per play: 1.5pts)

Jim Furyk to win 20/1 e.w. available generally
Furyk played on a course last week on which he had a good history and finished 8th for the second time this season and while he did not play on this course last year because of injury, he did finish 5th on the Sunset course at Mirasol course in 2003 and does have a good record in Florida. In his last full season of fitness (2003), he had three top-5 finishes and a 12th place finish in four events in this State. Add in one top-10 from one event this year and a win in this State in 2000 (Ford Championship) and he should certainly improve on last week's finishing position against a much weaker field.

Tim Clark to win 33/1 e.w. @ BetInternet, William Hill, Victor Chandler, Ladbrokes and BetDirect
Sticking with Clark again. His odds are lower than last week, but this is a reflection of the much weaker field. Like Furyk, he did not play on the debut on this course last year, but he does have a good record in Florida with finishes of 6th, 11th and 16th since October and last week's finish was only the 2nd time that he has finished outside the top-11 in his last nine strokeplay events. A consistent player who should again feature on the leaderboards.

Geoff Ogilvy to win 50/1 e.w. @ Bet365 and BetInternet
I've been reluctant to back Ogilvy for some time as he has never looked he would convert his chances of victory, but he finally did so in Tucson and even though the world's best players were at La Costa that week, it is still a significant breakthrough. That makes 50/1 rather surprising and particularly considering that in the past 18 months, Ogilvy has played in Florida seven times and finished in the top-20 on six occasions. He can clearly cope with Bermuda greens and is playing well enough to beat his 13th place finish on this course last year. He also finished 14th on the Sunrise course in 2003 and 2nd at the previous course, Heron Bay, in 2001. So 50/1 is certainly value.

Carl Petterson 28/1 to place top 5@ GG

appears not to like west coast, however his last 5 events in 04 produced 4 top 10's---and a 13th here last year suggest course is to his liking. I'll peek at these odds.

Sluman and MgGee were also considerations at similiar odds but opted for Carls prior consistency.

adding another @ WTTS 72 holes
Rose -105 over McDowell

Have taken several non posted positions on Rose. Not too bad here last year @ 36th but more importantly has never missed cut in Fla( 9 events). Have to like him in matches with a lot of these high marginal cut players--This will be Mc Dowell 1st in Fla I believe.

Honda Classic Plays

Sure had to sweat out my Tiger vs. Phil, it was fun to watch but @ -1.90 I was worried.

The two weeks went DLIII to Win, going one more. Has a good History and is a hard man to keep down.

Davis Love III WINS HONDA CLASS+20.00 2 Units

Seen a few on Clark for the OutRight so I'll go with

Tim Clark OV/Robert Allenby-1.20 2 Units

Langer has been Playing well this and has made some cuts but falters on the weekend. Believe Justin will finish a few ahead of Berney.

Justin Rose OV/Bernhard Langer-1.30 2 Units

Thanks to all who Post, it is really appreciated.

Simon: Scores do seem a little low--however lots of rain late yesterday and last night and not a lot of wind projected for today
Also rain has abated but could be Lift clean and place. The course played for 1st time last year ranked 23rd in scor diff in 04 with 72.48 ave--however conditions were dry and had winds around 15 mph 1st 3 days but 25 to 30 last day when scores ballooned with only 7 busting 70 ith lowest being 68 and many in high 70's.

a couple 1st rds
Love -105 over Harrington @ $plays
T Clark -104 ( - 1/2 stroke) over Parney -104 @ WSEX

Have several today and should be shot giving Love as one of my favs. He's just as apt to shoot 85 or wd as 65--but Harrington not in best of form yet and Love should have much the best in conditions.

Hate to give the 1/2 stroke but Clark the best of the 2 and have had success fading Parney in wet conditions with his steep angle of attack.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Few opportunities for me this week to dig deep . . . I was extremely put off last year by the specific quality of patient play demanded by this course, but Fazio promised to evaluate and tweak before this year . . . The Big Dogs continue to stake their claims to banner seasons, but now we definitely get a venue without inevitable advantages for the power players . . . I feel I'm going more with longshots rather than shots in the dark, but I'm also not loading up on anything at the moment . . .

OUTRIGHTS:

Todd Hamilton(66/1) e.w @ Bet365
Jim Furyk(18/1) e.w. @ Bet365
Brett Quiqley(125/1) e.w. @ 5dimes
Jeff Sluman(100/1) e.w. @ 5dimes :mj07:
