2nd round at 5 dimes:

Bryant -120 over Owen
Lewis -105 over Elliot

battles of the lower echelon, especially Lewis-Elliot. Overall ratings seem to favor my choices plus like the fact that Elliot beat Lewis yesterday. Seems like it would be hard for him to beat anybody 2 days in a row !

missed yesterday--timed out every time I tried to log in here ???

Has been intersting tourney as about a 3 stroke diff between groups in my view as same players got the best of conditions each day.Presents some interesting lines today especially in Oly 72 hole continuations.Bet several there today--here are a couple favs despite some pretty heavy juice they are currently tied despite getting worst of it each day--
Toms -130 over Harrington
McDowell -135 over Gow
Harrington not on top of his game yet. Hit all but 2 greens yesterday and was fortunate to shoot 3 under.
McDowell is interesting story as been watching @ 5Dimes last couple weeks as some big money has backing Mc and some other Euro players in what I deemed marginal matches to as high as -170. They haven't liked it so far but believe he gets job done against Gow.

Also adding a in running place only @ Expekt (top 4)
Love 8/1
Maybe this is his week--been having worst of conditions both days and not far out of place with some shakey ones above him.
His top 5 place rate of return was 4.6 in 04 so will give him a look.

FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -4.50pts

Furyk 9th
Clark 22nd
Ogilvy 6th

What a sickener! Joint-leader entering the final round, Ogilvy started poorly, but recovered to lead with just 8 holes to play. Two successive bogeys took him back out of the lead, but he always looked like he would at least make the playoff, but then he missed from inside ten feet on the easy 17th hole. Ah well, place money at least and maybe he'll birdie the last to get that playoff place, but a perfect drive ends up in a divot on the fairway. That sums it up nicely ... he proceeds to get a double-bogey from there and doesn't even get the top-5 payout. The sort of finish that takes all the fun out of watching golf.

Was terrible break to end up in the divot on 18 not to mention 4 lipped putts on back nine.

What a remarkable shot by Harrington on to get up and down on 1st playoff hole--and to get lie, wind in face and grain that enabled him to spin it where he was was also quite fortunate-however his 1st win here was long overdue --
--might see VJ go back to belly putter for a while.
