No interest in this fight? I just can't believe B Hop is the dog here. I love both fighters but I just have to like Hopkins here a little more. Winky's jab to me is his best weapon and nobody takes your jab out of your Arsenal like Bhop. To me Hopkins is in the top five of my all time greatest fighters. I just think he has tremendous skills. This also can turn very boring but after Hopkins destruction of Tarver i think B hop goes for the knockout here. Winky's tough so i think it will be interesting.
We can argue all we want about Hopkins two loses to Taylor but to take all his titles away from that bogus first fight decision was a total disgrace. Sure it was close but he was the champ not the other way around. I most likely will just watch this fight and not bet it since its in Vegas. Lots of winners on this site last week but not sure any of those fights were in Vegas. The land of the one sided fight but the bad judges decision. I have a feeling that there will be a lot more money bet on Hopkins in this fight which to me means a Hopkins decision is out of the question. Just my humble opinion.

i agree that bhop will not get the benefit of the doubt from the judges...

still,b.hop vs guys that don`t have real quicks is always worth a look...especially at +money....

bigger...stronger...just as slick....

the lefty stance is an issue, but, tarver certainly wasn`t a puzzle for b.hop....granted,tarver`s no winky...

but winky`s feet aren`t exactly slick...he`s a very, very stationary guy....b.hop will be looking for the angles...i expect him to make winky keep resetting...

winky`s gonna be looking at a height disadvantage...a size disadvantage...taylor had a little size advantage...but,imo,taylor ain`t a real smart fighter...

styles make fights...winky handles taylor....taylor gives hopkins trouble....hopkins gives winky fits?....

maybe....

but, who`s gonna lead?...two of the best counter-punchers in the game.....

Weasel i think B hop is 9-0 vs southpaws. He can't dick around here like he did in the 2nd Taylor fight and has to go get this like he did with Tarver. Some guys like fighting southpaws. Think Foremen use to eat them up saying they were taylor made for him. I think this is a very underatted fight that needs some pop. It can be a complete borefest also but im in. Just love the way Hopkins fights. One of the slickest guys around. Never saw him roughed up yet.

I think Winky "defenses" his way to a decision win.

I'll probably end up going to the weigh-in- not that that will give-up special secret info... doesn't look like an easy pick to me. Hopkins seem very comfortable with southpaws and if anyone can negate Wink's jab, it's BHop. Hard to get away from the fact that he's 42. Can Winky press forward and set a tough pace for the old man. Not like Wink's a spring chicken. I'll be ringside and I'm interested in the two televised undercards- should be really good scraps.

Punchy, did you see the HBO special with Winky banging out the Crispy Creams? I mean, I used to live right off Eastern Ave., just up the street from the Crispy Cream factory. Basically fried grease. I don't indulge anymore. How can he eat that shit? I can't bet this fight based on what I think I know right now.

This one goes over with ease.
Too bad the odds on the over 11 1/2 are insane(-600). Cant bet those odds.Might be a headbutt or something strange.
I can say there will be NO KO in this one.
I think Winky bores us to a decision win with he defense.

Man i never saw a total with that high of juice in my life. I see its -521 at Pinny. this fight i diff won't bet. I just can't bet against BHop but i can't see him winning a decision. That is incredible juice.

Ha-ha. Oh yea. I saw that. Talk about negative calories- no nutritional value whatsoever, but they are damn good. I'm on the west side and there's one at the corner of Rainbow and Spring Mountain. Crispy Creme factory? Frank, there should be one day of the week where you should indulge (Sunday morn?) and not think twice about it. Or bi-weekly for those who look down and can't see their own unit in the shower. Wink's been training down the street from me at a white collar gym that I previously belonged to. I'm sure his shape and conditioning will be fine but 160-165 is probably much better for him. That's what takes away some of his age advantage. Christ, maybe we should bet a draw...

A draw is a value play. I see Rahman at 24hr. Fitness on Sahara now and then. Guy I know, former boxer, says he is retarded; just does mucho heavy lifting. I did see him on the elliptical though. I thought Winky and Hopkins were at a catch weight?

Your right, that catch weight is 170 and I think that slightly favors Hop. I've seen Rahman at 24Hr/Sahara also- tried to engage in conversation- dumb as a box of Rocks, no pun intended.

i just can`t picture hopkins fighting shane mosley....

winky fought mosely at 154...we know that shane`s best weight is 147...

he lost close to fernando vargas..at 154...hopkins would crush vargas.....he beat ike quartey at 160(quartey says he`ll fight at 147 from now on).........

both beat trinidad at 160...trinidad was exposed vs both these guys....and dlh...technicians are like wolfsbane to trinidad...and he`s not a 160 pounder....

now winky moves up to 170...his heaviest weight ever...

we know hopkins can handle lefties...we know hopkins can handle the weight....he has a big height advantage...

winky can win...absolutely...but,i don`t see him as the favorite here....

a career jr middleweight....who has basically fought 1 legit middleweight...maybe 2(sam soliman)....now moving up to fight an all-time great, big middleweight at 170?....after he wiped the floor with tarver at 175?

i`ll take the +120....i know sentiment is with winky and he`ll get the benfit of the doubt....still think +120 is worth taking.....particularly after the last week`s good fortune...

and the draw prop,of course...

So Cal
Very tough to call - could be a yawner, but Winky's manager says he won't be in his defensive shell as often is the case. Who knows? Draw is always a shot since it will no doubt go 12.

Hey punch, I approached Rahman and he looked at me like I had 2 heads. Dumb as a bag of hammers. Ya know, I'm actually leaning towards Hopkins, but that promise he made to his mom can be a very bad omen. Maybe I'm stupid-stitious but why is Hopkins fighting anyway? No money?

I lean Bhop also, but it's just not a fight that you put significant $$ on. I am going to the weigh-in today, see how they look. Went to the press conference yesterday- Hopkins is entertaining as hell- the former inmate can put a speech together. Wink was of few words, but Birmingham pointed out his conditioning coach, brother of NFL player who had Winky packing on the muscle with the weights. Hopkins was like- your lifting weights that's great...I'm still kicking your ass- going for the stoppage and dishing out a Joppyesque beating. That's kind of hard to see against The Wink. If Hopkins does that, only further secures his legacy. Hops is hanging around because after years of drying out unnaturally to 160 to make history, he feels like he's in a new body at 175.

Defensive counter-punching geriatric bullshit. What is the freakin allure to this fight? What significance does it have except for the bank accounts of the fighters? I'm only ranting as this is not PPV quality. What is the world coming to!

i look at these lines and i just sit there stunned. They are so set up for a Winky decision win i cant even risk betting Hopkins. Unless these lines changed why in the hell would Winky be favorite? Why is winky such a huge advantage if you bet him to win by decison. Advantage i mean for the books. To me the boys in Vegas are beginng us. Just begging us to take Hopkins Just to screw us in a decision. I feel every single close round will go to Winky. Im dying to bet Hopkins but the conspricay glasses are back on for this fight and the only way BHop will win this is by knockout. Decision forget it.

Just went to see the lines again and they did close a little on the decision compared to what i saw before. Hopefully this is a god sign for BHop.
