Keeko, I never said you were a racist, there was only one brief comment by me (and it was in general, and not pointed at you) about making black and Hussein references in this forum by a couple of people that won't talk about issues. You did take my points on, and although I don't generally agree with your thoughts, I think you more against Obama because of his liberal views - not a racial thing. Of course, many people say that, but down deep they would never vote for a black man, or a woman, or anything other than what is right and white. Again, not saying you, but people can cover up their true issues rather easily. I appreciate you posting your thoughts.

I do not call everyone who doesn't like Obama a racist, there are plenty who don't like his views and ideals, and that is fine. I've mentioned that before in this forum, and I have not even supported the man to this point - I was a Clinton supporter in the primary season. I have issues with him, too, he can be pretty liberal in areas I don't agree with.

As for the oil companies thing, do you seriously want us to believe you don't think the oil companies want more leases and land if they can get it? Do you really think that they want to drill in any of these areas to help with supply for the purpose of lowering the price of oil or gas? What - again - would their motivation be to do that? And, do you really think that the supply of oil and gas in the world is so much lower than it was when the price was last in the $2 range, or the demand is twice what it was then? Is the supply of oil and gas so much lower just before major travel holidays, when these people kick up the price 10-40 cents a gallon for that weekend, then lower it right after?

Do the oil companies really care about keeping costs as low as possible for the consumer? Do they have to compete with any other companies other than the other few big ones that all together control the overall prices? What is more likely - they all work together to keep prices high and they all win, or that they try to make their prices low and sell more than their competitors? Isn't that TRULY what free markets are all about? Competition? Who do these few companies compete with? Why are none of them running markedly lower prices to drum up more business?

I think most of us realize the answers to these questions. And in my opinion, if you think that any of these oil companies really care about producing more supply to get prices lower, then you are at best naive, and at worst - well, I won't name call an obvious term.

I personally don't think it's any coincidence that the series of events that have taken place over the past few years has pushed the prices, supplies, and scenarios to where they are now. And it easily can all lie directly with this administration - they have done everything they could have done to produce this effect. And if they haven't, then they are the worst managers of the issues we have ever had, except for maybe one President that we all agree was not a very good one.
