I always thought you just pick the team you would think would win....find the best price and bet it

why make things so difficult  :tongue

who cares if Pinnacle has -120 and everywhere else it's -105.....take the -105 and don't read into things so much

I agree 100% with Kick.

I primarily use Olympic and Pinnacle for my action, and to be honest if I feel a particular side is a solid play I will book it at whichever site offers the best price. In my opinion reading too much into which book is sharp and if line movement means one thing or another will only drive you nuts.

At one point, I too was skeptical about so-called sharp books. But there's just no denying the results I've observed. I do a lot of middling and scalping. Thousands of bets later, the results show that Pinnacle beats up on me while I beat up on books like WSEX, Carib, and Intertops (and SIA of course until I reached their +15k threshold and got booted like so many others) -- books whose customer base is made up of primarily recreational bettors (fondly known as squares). And what's even more telling, my middles/scalps (in the long run) were losing at the low-vig book while winning at the full-vig books. I can be as stubborn as anyone, but the results don't lie. There really are such things as sharp books. Study the line movements (as I've done for quite some time), scalp, read posts from others who have done the same research, etc. You might become a believer too.

kick, as piacasso and I said, take time to watch the lines before gametime, and write em down. play at pinnacle when the line seems 5-10 cents less on a favorite often enough and you'll get burned, I've watched their lines for a long time, why would I make this up  Hey, to each's own, most here are recreational players but I devote a lot of time to this and want to produce profits so I'll use whatever I can, the fact is pinnacle lines are substantially off sometimes from most other spots and people think they're getting a "deal" laying less vig but in actuality you are betting against wise guys, Least thats what Ive surmised, thanks

NY, vaguely is don't be afraid to be a "pricemaker" instead of "pricetaker" with pinnacle or any outlet,

develop something that you have researched......leaving nothing to doubt in your mind percentage wise/......research....play into weak numbers.

if your confident, why give away a nice price at pinnacle or whoever....and quit cause you have not done your homework on capping percentage wise going into the event.

research! and get a feel for the lines...

good stuff IE, always comes down to doing the work first and foremost, then you look for prices and scalping, I basically just meant that there is some clues to be gotten and some variances in the line, thanks for the advice!

great stuff IE, sure beats having to have 5 open windows all the time with different lines, this makes it easier, much appreciated, If I notice or find anything that maybe some of you havent I'll tell everyone, but I doubt theres much you haven't seen, thanks again
