Do we wear a mask or not?

I guess I will. But, it's rare I get anywhere near anybody.

As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases soar, B.C. health officials are starting to consider whether the wider use of face masks could curb the spread.

But the stance against face masks softened Wednesday when Henry said her team is now looking into community use.

"Obviously, this is something we've been considering as well," she said at her daily press conference Wednesday.

Henry said masks might have some benefit for people who don't have any symptoms.

THEY JUST DON'T KNOW!

If it makes you feel safe, wear a mask. But most of the masks people are wearing don't do shit anyway, actually in some cases you can make it worse for yourself.

I mean you can wear a full on Hazmat suit if you want, throw on a gas mask as well, it will keep you safe.

Hell dress your dog up as well if you want........

hazmat-dog.jpg

Just use common sense (stay inside, wash hands, don't high five random people, etc etc) that seems to work best.

I wrote this on Monday. The email to the Arlington school superintendent was sent last week. I encourage you to watch the videos.
===============================================

I was listening to WBAP 820 this morning. The topic was whether we should wear masks in public to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. Many callers were just ill-informed on the function of the mask as it pertains to slowing down this virus. Even the two hosts were ignorant about its effect.

Please take some time to watch these two videos.

https://vimeo.com/399733860

My proposal is for our government to mass produce surgical masks and distribute them to every single person in our country as soon as possible. I am not a politician. I am not an economist, a scientist, or a doctor. I am just an observant that can add 1 and 2.

Below is part of an email I sent last week to a person I thought would relay my message. Of course he ignored it.

I am a retired math teacher from AISD. We briefly met at CostCo this past Sunday. I want to share my idea on how to combat the Coronavirus.

The CDC has made it abundantly clear the steps to avoid getting the Coronavirus. However, they have not suggested or implemented something that I noticed from two countries (Vietnam and South Korea) that have, according to numbers, flatten the curve. The population of Vietnam is almost 100 million. Vietnam was hit with the Coronavirus several weeks before the United States. As of today, the total number of infected people in that country remains low (163) with only 3 to 10 new cases per day. South Korea was hit almost immediately after the outbreak. Their numbers spiked quickly but they were able to flatten the curve better than any other country. All countries follow the guidelines to avoid getting the virus. But in Vietnam and South Korea, almost everyone wears a face mask when they leave their homes. It is second nature to them. As a byproduct of this behavior, they prevent the spreading of the Coronavirus.

I fully understand that our doctors and nurses and frontline responders are in dire need of the N95 masks. But to slow down the spread of this virus, we must make masks available to the general public. We have implemented lockdowns, but the lockdowns don?t restrict people from going to the groceries and other essential places.

I believe you are in the position to share this idea with our elected leaders. Thank you for your time and your dedication to the students in Arlington.

Wear a mask when you go outside where are other people. If its mask like you had in FB check filters level (thumb rule = they are good enough for asbestos work = they are good enough against virus).
If it's disposable, have a bag for it at home ( 1 / bag ) you can reuse it after, let's say two weeks if you don't use oven or other means cleaning it.

RTFM how to use the mask, how to set it on your face and how to remove it. Put it on at home, take it off when you come back.

First try it at home a couple of hours and adjust wearing it. At home you need certain routine when removing this mask safely and place were to clean and keep it, stick with that.

When outside, or like here, don't give a fuck what someone says about it.

It's your life, not theirs.

Specially don't listen what canadians say about anything cv-related (except IE and other pro-mask canadians), very likely opposite is the way to go (for example some of them are happy that there are still 7.79billion people left, that doesn't make any sense).

7.78 billion not 7.79 billion, 98 minute ban to Snafu for incorrect information posted above.

And......I always wear my hockey goalie mask when out in public, works better then any other mask on the market.:00hour

And this fucker doesn't have a mask on, maybe the virus will finally get him>>>>>>>:0003

Watch the videos from the links above. They are long. But to answer Jack's question directly, go to the 12-minute mark of the first video by Dr. David Price.

Starting at the 15-minute mark of the second video, Professor Kim Woo-joo discusses the effectiveness of masks.

36:30 if you don't have time.

Jack, your age puts you in the at risk category, if you have any medical conditions just makes it worse for you. I would tell you wear a mask. Lots of hand washing and hand sanitizer.

I am working in three ER?s right now, one was closed to only care for the extremely sick covid pts. It?s hard to see. Keep yourself safe

And only wear gloves if you dispose of them once you touch things. I?m seeing people wear gloves at stores and holding their phones touching this and that, touching their face, mask, and hair. This actually is worse than just your hands.

Be safe. This is truly scary shit

Just my humble opinion as an Emergency Room Nurse

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. ? Miami Beach is issuing an order: cover up. Effective Tuesday, April 7, employees and customers must wear some kind of covering over their mouths and noses
when they go into grocery stores, pharmacies and restaurants in the city.

https://www.local10.com/news/local/2020/04/03/covid-19-cover-up-miami-beach-issues-mandate/

Bought some off of here yesterday...veteran operated.

Also go to Etsy.com and specify shop location USA

When you specify USA location, also check out the info on the shop before you buy, because there are some sellers on Etsy that are really companies, not people working from home. Who knows where their products come from. You can tell the home businesses from the others by clicking on the shop name and reading about it.

i'm sure you find happiness with this number when your loved ones dies because of cv.

Huh? What the hell are you talking about? You think I find joy when a pandemic hits and thousand die and on top of that I'd find happiness if a loved one dies from it? That's a pretty fucked up thing to say, what the hell?

Best wishes to u. Scary times.

The thing about masks is this.

The virus spreads like tb requiring the special n95 masks or PAPR systems to protect yourself. It also spreads by droplet and maybe impeded somewhat by a regular surgical mask. I wear one when I go in public.

Isolation is important as is hand washing. Best wishes to all of us going forward.

If u get sick, have some of this stuff on hand. It does help keep down the severity of any viral illness like this. Not a cure, but it does help. That?s why it is hard to get. Stock up.

When I see that number I say who cares also to his posting this. If you lose the corona lottery and get it, that number means nothing if someone you know dies, but kick hasn't seen anything from his mom's basement for years anyway.
