Hey TD not sure what it is but speaking of live bets I think I’ve lost 90% of mine and after betting Clemson live @ +5.5. Then bama player gets a layup with zeros on the clock to win by 6! Swore I won’t do them anymore!!
Not sure it’s got anything to do with your thoughts but what I did notice was watching the game live Saturday on direct TV my feed was a good 15+ seconds behind the score updates on my phone. I’d heard there’s a delay built in for the live betting but it was pretty substantial. Had a buddy in town watching the Illini game. And my feed was a play ahead of his. He’d get my text about a missed FT before he even saw the player shoot it.
Don’t ever remember delays like that before. And I always figured direct TV was lagging.
Either way good luck with your plays TD! Been a rough tourney! Hope the next 3 games go our way!

This has nothing to do with "live betting", there has always been a delay from watching on tv to a live sporting event. Going all the way back to the mid 1980's it has been like this. Back then if you watched tv from an Antenna or even one of those giant Satellites in your backyard there was a delay. I remember listening to Toronto Maple Leaf games on radio with the tv on, and it was always behind by at least 3-5 seconds. And that was "before the Internet" days, let alone betting on games live.
Bottom line no matter how you watch a sporting event now (tv, streaming, whatever) you'll always be a bit behind. Sometimes it can be as much as 30 seconds or as little as 2 seconds, but you'll never be watching in real time, and it has absolutely nothing to do with gambling.
Of course when I taped games on my trusty Betamax......there is never a delay
Good old beta/vcr wars! You’re right always been a delay of some sort but seems pronounced lately. Thought I read about live betting having an early feed. Nothing out of the norm since it’s a time crunch to get the line adjusted posted and take wagers before it changes. I just haven’t had any luck betting live. Then again not much luck when i have a week to look at it either.
Yep, those wars back in the day were epic, but somehow VHS pulled out the win with a game winning field goal with no time on the clock.
And yes......always been a delay but you are right there are some Satellite/Cable/Streaming/Whatever Companies now that seem to have really long delays. Which 20 years ago was not the case, it does seem now the delays are more pronounced.
from what i've seen, the delays are longer on games that are streaming. games on regular cable seem to have about the same delay they've always had, but the delays on streaming are at least a few seconds more.
