While I share your thoughts exactly I will offer this... Maybe the coach was trying to show BG he isnt afraid to air it out and not to stuff the line on him or they will go down field. Now with that you dont have to throw it as far as you can everytime to accomplish that.

With that said the bad thing is if #22 doesnt drop the one down the middle he might score!
