My youngest dog Wrigley tore her ACL the other day. I was standing in the back yard texting my boy Cie and she was just walking and let out an ear splitting cry and came running, or hopping I guess since it's her back leg, to me crying. Took her in for tests and pictures and sure enough. Surgery is around $3K and recovery from that is ten weeks in a crate. What sucks about the situation the most is seeing her limo around. She's a shell of herself and can't run and play with my other two dogs like she's always done. She's withdrawn and stressed. I know it's typical pack behavior for her to recuse herself a bit, but it's just so frigging sad for me to see. I know some think it's ridiculous, but this shit really tears me up man, because there is so little I can do for her right now. Fuuuuuuck, I'm really bummed. Just wanted to vent a little bit I guess. Tough weekend in Fat Daddy Coolsville for sure.

Thanks man. I know you're right bro. It's just me man, you know how I am. Shit, I'd rather have it happen to me than my family, friends, or pets. I just don't handle this shit well. Oh well, such is life man

She'll recover.

Dogs are tough.

In no time she'll be back to normal:0074

Thanks for all the support men. I am truly grateful to all you. I know she'll do okay. She's young and healthy and I do need to stop beating myself up over it. Injuries happen. This place is awesome man. Happy Halloween!

Yet another example of how great you are. No one else has said it so I will. 3K! That is a lot of money. It is at least for this "Madjack's Millionaire."

3k! I have to work pretty hard to make 3k. I bet you didn't think twice on spending that on your dog.

FDC. Same thing happened to my chocolate lab, surgery cost a minimum of $3,000 vet said no guarantee she would blow it out again after surgery....I opted no surgery, just keep the dog down don't allow it to run or jump. It will heal on its own only side effect is arthritis will set in, but the dog can cope. Good luck.

I know exactly how you feel Cris, this would tear me up if this happened to my golden retriever Kody. I worry about his hips all the time. She will heal, she's lucky to have you and i'm sure you her. take care of yourself and her, good luck...

Surgery and rehab. Pool rehab works great. Friend of mine brings his 17yo(you read it right. ..17!) pit bull to my house to swim her 3 times weekly because the rehab facility charges him $45 for a half hour of PT in their pool. He paid twice to watch what the therapist does, now he imitates it for free at my house
