Rat trap
The Arizona Diamondbacks had a suspicious visitor to their dugout during Game 3 of the World Series: a rat.
A very large rat.
"It was a steroid rat," Diamondbacks first baseman Mark grace said Wednesday before Game 4. "He wasn't hurting anyone, he was just hanging around."
The rat, who was loitering in the area where manager Bob Brenly stands, caught the attention of the players on the bench. The out of towners called for police assistance.
"We thought he was bugged," Grace said, speculating on how far the Yankees would go for a win. "They threw a box over him and got him out of there."
Yankee Stadium isn't the only ballpark to have a vermin problem. The players mentioned Wrigley Field, Shea Stadium and, of course, the Astrodome, where cats were kept around to catch rats.
The rat was not available for comment.
