Guys, I have to tell you all a little something.

Read the rules these sports books have before you wager with them!

I placed a 4 team runline parlay with these people yesterday, and it won. Here is the ticket:

Wager Type: Parlay (4 team)
Wager Status: Pending
Risk / To Win Amount: 10.50 / 278.94 (USD) Accepted 9/10/2002 3:39 PM

Item #1
Wager Type: Run Line
Outcome: Win
Sport / Period: MLB Baseball / Game
Line:
Atlanta Braves 9/10/2002 7:35:01 PM - EST
-1? +130
Pitchers: Pedro Astacio - Must Pitch Damian Moss - Must Pitch

Item #2
Wager Type: Run Line
Outcome: Win
Sport / Period: MLB Baseball / Game
Line:
Houston Astros 9/10/2002 8:05:01 PM - EST
-1? +100
Pitchers: Denny Neagle - Must Pitch Wade Miller - Must Pitch

Item #3
Wager Type: Run Line
Outcome: Pending
Sport / Period: MLB Baseball / Game
Line:
Chicago White Sox 9/10/2002 8:05:01 PM - EST
-1? +135
Pitchers: Gary Glover - Must Pitch Runelvys Hernandez - Must Pitch

Item #4
Wager Type: Run Line
Outcome: Pending
Sport / Period: MLB Baseball / Game
Line:
Anaheim Angels 9/10/2002 10:05:01 PM - EST
-1? +155
Pitchers: Ted Lilly - Must Pitch Ramon Ortiz - Must Pitch

$10.50 to win $278.94

This was the wager I made, and that was the payoff I was quoted.

Now, this morning the cash was in my account, but this afternoon, I had money deducted with a note: "Corrected parlay payoff" The total deducted was $69

I wrote this joint to ask what the deal is, and have had no reply as of yet, but while reading their rules a little closer, I found this:

*If any other money line is included the parlay will be calculated as a money line parlay with the maximun payoff odds listed below

2 TEAM
PAY
18/5

3 TEAM
PAY
9/1

4 TEAM
PAY
20/1

5 TEAM
PAY
32/1

6 TEAM
PAY
54/1

7 TEAM
PAY
94/1

8 TEAM
PAY
139/1

9 TEAM PAY 240/1
10 TEAM PAY 470/1
11 TEAM PAY 840/1
12 TEAM PAY 1350/1
13 TEAM PAY 1880/1
14 TEAM PAY 2600/1
15 TEAM PAY 4000/1

So, by their rules, they only pay me up to the point of 20/1, which is a complete scam! This from the book that says they offer the "World's highest parlay odds. PERIOD!" Fuhk that! "We screw you......PERIOD!"

I went from a payout at 26.56 odds down to 20!

I was shorted 25% of my projected payoff!

I bring this to your attention, because I don't want any of you getting screwed by these guys on this type of wager. I guess I should have read the rules closer, but the facts are these:

  • I played a parlay based on quoted odds on each game
  • I entered my wager and the payoff was posted to me at a rate of $278.94 to $10.50

If Infinity will not allow you to collect on a wager above a certain payoff point, then their system should void the play when you try to make it. I am pulling my remaining money out of there tomorrow, as I don't like the way they run things. I have rolled the money over enough to meet the contest requirements, so I am out.

Oh, one more note........I will get scalped again on the "out" payment, as I didn't leave my money in for 30 days, but I will pay that price to get the hell out of there.

Here would be another nice example:

Wager type : Parlay Select #1 : MLB Baseball Baltimore Orioles 9/11/2002 7:45:01 PM - EST Money Line+250 for Game John Stephens must Start Orlando Hernandez must Start Select #2 : MLB Baseball Tampa Bay Devil Rays 9/11/2002 7:15:01 PM - EST Money Line+300 for Game Pedro Martinez must Start Paul Wilson must Start Select #3 : MLB Baseball San Diego Padres 9/11/2002 10:05:01 PM - EST Spread pk+180 for 1st 5 Innings Adam Eaton must Start Miguel Batista must Start Amount

Risking 10.00 To Win 382.00 USD

You hit a sweet 3 teamer, and are out buying shots for the boys. But, when you get back in the wee hours of the morning, and want to bet that $382 on the Texans game this weekend, you find out that you got paid at 9/1 odds, or

$90

Gee.........I don't feel too SCREWED!

38/1 odds reduced to 9/1 by the book with the "World's highest parlay odds. PERIOD!"

I'm no math major, so maybe Koty's Dad can help me, but I believe you just got a 400% ass pounding!

Are you gonna play there?

I've heard of books putting a cap on the AMOUNT you can win in a parlay (i.e. $100,000) but this is ridiculous!

Most other books I know of will go by those fixed odds you mentioned, such as 20/1 for a 5-teamer, when each leg in the parlay is -110. This should not apply when the odds are variable, that does not make sense.

yyz, maybe you should talk to them to make sure, that's it's not a software issue or something like that. Please wait for their response and let us know. Fair enough that you AND us should get to hear their side. GL.

I emailed them hours ago. Nothing yet, but I know now what their payoff schedule is, and that calculates out to what they made my new payment at. So.......I am pretty sure about the answer I will get.

yyz, i got out of Infinity myself after finding this little gem. You are right, there is no reason the software cannot tell you in advance there is a cap. Anything less is simply inexcusable!!!

Here's what Infinity just sent me. It reads exactly as I thought it would. "You should have read the rules."

I have a few wagers pending for tonight, but will get out of there in the morning. This place is a joke with odds like that, and that's all I have to say.

------------------------------------------

Here at Infinity we have maximum payoffs odds on our parlays. You wager on the internet, therefore, you just need to visit our "payoff odds" page to see what they are. Currently our software will still give you a readback for more than the maximum payout, as at this time we are only able to set the limit for parlay payouts by dollar amount and not by the odds paid for each parlay. Currently our maximum payout for a parlay is at $10,000,000.00, so as long as your parlay does not exceed that figure then you will get a readback for what the computer calculates it to pay and you will be paid by the computer whatever the figure is. We review each account everyday and once a parlay pays more than it should, then the account balance will be re-adjusted. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

What a load of BS! Most of the other books dont seem to have a problem having correct software?

OK lets see, we will tell our customers said parlay pays out $1,000. Oh wait, but really it only pays $300. We know this because our computer tells us it can only be $300, but for some reason we cant tell our customers this when they wager online.

"Currently our software will still give you a readback for more than the maximum payout, as at this time we are only able to set the limit for parlay payouts by dollar amount and not by the odds paid for each parlay."

Not really a good sign in my opinion (as a programmer) when they cant figure out how to make something like this work. You are either in the business of providing odds online, or you arent. You cant be in the business but not have people on staff smart enough to make it work.

My reply:

Mr. Smith,

I think that is a very odd situation that you would
place your customers in, by having a read out showing
the correct odds on a parlay, and a notation in your
"payoff odds" section, stating the payoff can
be substantially less than you are expecting.

The software you employ, is unacceptable, and should
be changed to reflect what a customer will actually
get paid on a wager with your company.

I find it quite ironic that your company employs a
slogan touting it's high parlay payoffs, and in fact,
you pay far less than most books on the wager I won
last evening.

You can say it was my mistake to play into those false
odds, because I did not read the fine print, but I am
certain that I am not the first to be taken in by this
tactic, nor will I be the last.

Rest assured, that it is not a mistake that I will
repeat with Infinity, as I will be withdrawing my
funds in the morning.

Sincerely,

That is the best answer I can think of. As I am in no danger of winning any money in the NFL contest, I think I have seen the last of them.

WHY would you advertise those odds when you are basically LYING to your customers?

i would encourage EVERYONE to get out of this book immediately.....put some pressure on them to do things in a professional, honest, and forthright manner or they lose business.....that is what needs to happen in today's business climate and it starts with the consumer.....

Since Jack got 100 people to deposit money in Infinity for their contest x $500 each, maybe that $50,000 in revenue should at least garner us some sort of attention.

Otherwise, this book should not get one dime of business.

i just got home and saw this. i'll be talking to charles bauer (the owner) tomorrow afternoon.

until then, let's relaxxxx.

i have nothing else to offer at this point.

sorry, but i will tomorrow.

i'd be pissed too and that's how i'll approach him.

let's just see what happens.

and, they DO have the best parlay odds that they advertise. maybe not on money lines (because they have a limit) but spread lines. maybe it's a software issue?

i'm not going to defend them right now because i don't know but...

talk to you tomorrow.

Thanks, Jack, and I just got your email.

I don't want to come off like a prick over this issue, but what if it where you or Raymond, or anyone else who bets real money?

I lost $69 on a $10.50 wager. You guys make hundred dollar parlays all the time!

That would be a $690 clip from you! Maybe you make a $1000 parlay......you gonna give them odds in their favor, and let them keep $6,900 of your money, too?

I know you said relax, and you will talk to the head cheese, but what about the clients who don't have a Mad Jack Sports to speak for them?

I hate to get you in the middle of this, as they are a sponsor of yours, and that means money for you......for this, I am sorry. You have never been anything but good to me, Jack, and I hope this doesn't get your place in any hot water, but the bottom line for me, is my money.

I am sure you, and Infinity, will understand that.

Thanks again for your support in this matter, and I will let it go for now.

thanks for posting Infinity's response

thanks for posting Infinity's response

Geez, I guess if I was a high roller or wiseguy, then I would DEFINITELY play at Infinity because they have a $10M max on their parlay payouts. At the same time, who the heck is gonna beat 'em for that much?;)

But if you even just have one or two dogs in your parlay, then their max. payout odds are enough to screw that up. Move on to another out. There are other fine books that sponsor this site, which would correctly calculate the payout odds.

I guess Infinity's new motto should be: WORLD'S HIGHEST PAYOUTS ODDS IF YOU DON'T PLAY DOGS. PERIOD.

Well, I just called Infinity, and had them send me $400 Western Union.

I have to call back after 6pm Eastern to get my confirmation number, so I can pick up the cash. It will cost me $51 for this transaction. It must cost more for them to send the money to the States, because the charge to send $400 from here to there, is $42.

I left some cash in there to play on a 15 teamer!:thefinger

Well, I had a feeling these dirtbags would double fuhk me, and they did!

Here is another rule they have:

10. Clients may close their accounts at any time however, the account closure before 30 days of the initial deposit or insufficient play will result in the cancellation of all issued bonuses and the voiding of all transfer fees.

Well, I figured to leave some money in there, and not actually close my account. I had $514 in there this morning. I asked for $400 to be sent via Western Union. They charged me $51 in WU fees. That left me $53 in my account.

Now, they clipped me $29, which was my reimbursement from them when I sent them $300 6 days ago. So, they seem to make up the rules as they go along over at that grind joint!

Final results:

  • $329 sent to Infinity via Western Union.
  • $69 lost in "adjusted parlay" payoff.
  • $51 lost in transaction out fees.
  • $29 lost in transaction in "penalty".
  • $400 withdrawn

yyz: +$71--------Western Union: +$71------Infinity: +$78
