My son was flipping between baskets and this game so I missed the replay & was shocked when I saw the possession indicator still on NE and the game not over on NFL.com scoreboard.

BUT I have a question?

Are all of the disappointed remarks here from Raiders fans or did you guys really play on the away team here vs the Pats knowing that the field conditions were the way they were?

No disrespect intended but that was a long trip for the Raiders after last weeks game. Just trying to learn, but I took NE -2.5 last as soon as the match-up came out.

This topic will be a good one because most are thinking with their wallets and not their brains. "I don't care what the rule is, that was a fumble." You don't care what the rule is? How else can you interpret a play but by the rule? As for slo-mo or super slo-mo cameras, did it ever occur to people that a slo-mo camera will always show a still frame. That doesn't mean that the action was stopped at that moment. The camera stopped the motion - not the player. Hopefully all the people that got screwed on this one will be able to remember back to a time when they benefitted from a similar situation. It is the only way to keep your sanity.

THISclose,

If that play decided the game (a theory to which I do not subscribe) then it was only because the Raiders could not stop the Pats in the second half, and most notably in OT.

Willie, that is exactly why I have only placed two wagers on NFL football since about 8 weeks ago. Its a joke and I'm not gonna chance my money on some 80 year old guy in a striped shirt fucking up a call like this one. I'm just hoping we got our replay debacle out of the way for this weekend because I will be on Pittsburgh tomorrow...

you have a decent chance to win that bet...refs would never have reversed that call if this game was played in oakland...nfl is scared to death of another cleveland debacle....home teams in play-offs have big advantage officiating wise....2 penalties total called on home teams today.

Gardenweasel thanks for that tip & point well taken, will factor that into tomorrows screening of the teams decided to take mostly home teams in the playoffs but had the Eagles today, still lost with Miami last week so sitting at 5-1.:)

Baystate,

All I know is if that play isn't fuched up the Raiders kneel and that's that. If a game is OVER, and then a review gives the other team the ball back? Yeah, I'd say that cost them the game. Couple sweet no calls by the geat officiating team as well. One that leaps to mind was the most blatant pass interference "no call" I've seen in a LONG time..Patsies get slaughtered next go around. Much like tonight. THISclose
