The Case for Herman Cain for President -- Solving for X

Former CEO of Godfather's Pizza Herman Cain is seen at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition, in this March 7, 2011 file photo taken at the Point of Grace Church in Waukee, Iowa. (AP)

I graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in mathematics in 1967. Back then, we didn?t use fancy calculators to solve problems. Instead, we utilized formulas to ?solve for x.?

The same holds true in life. Throughout my own, ?solving for x? meant learning how to nurture a family, how to navigate the corporate world during unfavorable times and how to deliver results. In delivering these results, I have always maintained a sense of humanity while achieving bottom lines and profitability. It stems from my humble beginnings, upbringing and spiritual compass.

I grew up in a three-room house during the height of segregation. My father worked three jobs-- as a barber, janitor and chauffer?and my mother was a domestic worker. They toiled tirelessly to provide for my brother and me in hopes of giving us a better life than what they ever knew. And they did.

This is what DTBlackgumby posted in the first post in this thread.

I guess I dont listen to 90% of what you post but then i usually dont say anything about it.

you and rusty could start a pow wow club

Solving the X was his way of dealing with life when he was younger, not a name like you warped it around.Maybe you should read the post yourself.

I see we conveniently left out the other issue of posting racist photos, beautiful!
Liberals aren't racist. It goes against everything we stand for. It's just not in our DNA.

Parody, on the other hand... well, that's something different altogether.

Know what I mean, Rusty? ;)

So you find "Herman X" a racial slur but have not said one f*cking word about your boy DTB's daily use of "Gumby" and "Da Base"?

If you weren't so obtuse, you'd know that Scotty's parodying DTB, not Herman Cain.

I really don't see the racial comparison to Gumby.
He was a cartoon character who could bend and stretch in weird ways ,whos color was green.I don't get it.http://editorialcartoonists.com/cartoon/display.cfm/93766/Your making it into something that its not, which makes me believe you are setting DTB up in a racist way.

Speaking of obtuse...

Rusty, everyone else got the memo. How'd you miss it?

You can't be as open with racism on a public forum like the Internet as you can say... while downing a couple cold ones with the boys at Kelsey's Bar. On public forums like the Internet and right-wing talk radio, racism has to be more subtle, more sophisticated.

So when Rush refers to Obama as a "Halfrican American" or plays his "Barack the Magic Negro" song, or DTB throws words like "Gumby" and "Da Base" around, they're playing this game.

Hell, lots of white Americans, particularly in the South, carry black blood and vice versa. Maybe even DTB?

Back in the day, there was a lot of "fence jumping" going on, if ya know what I mean... ;) :142smilie

I can indentify with his and his families values/ethics from what I've seen so far--

now if I find later his associates / mentors were (terrorists/criminals /radical revs etc) or he indentfies with Lil Wayne/rap --or he gets nominated and his family are proud to be Americans for 1st time--I might change my mind.

--but he certainly does not fit that dysfunctional no values grifter mold so far.

OK let me start looking for this stuff.

There has got to be a monkey in the woodpile somewhere.

:SIB

PS - I thought for sure that when you found out he was a muslim you would turn away from Herman X.

PSS - And you were ok when it was reported this past weekend that Herman X invoked the MLK
Free at last, free at last , thank God almighty we are free at last , in a speech he made ?

Now I know civil rights just aint your bag, so what the hey you got to say about that ?

I thought sure that would send him to your dumpster.

wow maybe your mellowing out in your old age.

In 2008, Cain blasted ?free market purists? in an opinion column for opposing the $700 billion banker bailout known as TARP. ?Wake up people! Owning a part of the major banks in America is not a bad thing,? he wrote, claiming opposition to the plan stemmed from ?economic illiteracy.? In the piece, Cain praised the actions of the Federal Reserve and the Treasury while saying ?Congress needs to just shut up? for the ?collective actions to work.? The U.S. Constitution was never mentioned.

Cain also served as the Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank during the mid '90s, emerging as a vocal defender of the central banking system, the same one that is the 5th plank of the Communist Manifesto that gives power to elites.

On top of that, Cain is vehemently opposed to a congressional audit of the Fed that would allow Congress and the American people to find out what exactly was going on at the central bank.

In recent years and months, a great deal of secret information about the Fed has become public. The institution was, for example, clandestinely bailing out foreign banks ? including one owned by the Libyan dictatorship of Muammar Gaddafi ? with trillions of dollars. Meanwhile, it was manipulating the markets for stocks, bonds, real estate, precious metals, and more.

A bipartisan bill to audit the institution was co-sponsored by about three fourths of the House and supported by more than 80 percent of Americans. But presumably a President Cain would veto such a measure.

He portrays himself as an outsider and has never held elected office despite running a failed bid for a U.S. Senate seat from Georgia in 2004, ?he is no stranger to Washington's world of money in politics,? notes the political transparency group Open Secrets. Cain has donated to a broad array of political campaigns. Democrat U.S. Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Nevada Tea Party candidate Sharron Angle?s primary opponent, Danny Tarkanian, have both benefited from his largesse.

Cain rejects the ?Tea Party? label. Instead, he calls himself a ?citizen?s candidate.?
