2nd rd results 0-1
Sutherland/Coceres loss
tough lost, match cost me parlay also:mad:

3rd rd
Sutherland +100 over Coceres @ 365 (ties lose)
yes same match as yesterday, glutton for punishment
Pampling -103 over Triplett @ 5dimes
Pampling started slow 1st day but came back strong yesterday with 6 under.
Dimarco -115 over Riley @ 5dimes
Class A player vs B+ at tolerable odds

random notes.
BM concerning Estes, don't know if you watched tourney but at beginning of rd he hit flagstick only to bounce backward into water. If you could read his lips looked like he said F-It and had no effort from then on.
Most interesting thing all day in viewing was watching 13 year old Philippina kid beat his pro, Steve Jones by 2 scratch on back nine. Kid fired a "gross" 2 under on back nine carding 5 natural birdies on day.He was listed as 8 hcp. Hit an iron from 183 over water bout 20 ft from pin, pretty stout for 13 year old.
Kenny Perry sqeeks in top 30 and then takes next 3 weeks off?? He'll be knocked out this week.He played in pro/member here monday and shot 79 on 6,700 yd pitch and putt CC in Glasgow(hope Neemer isn't reading this its his home course)
and Spike might be struggling on course but not a home as he has his 3rd in 3 years,a 5lb 8 oz girl this time. Ian and Clive have their work cut out for them:grins:

and whats with Oly,Wsex and sportingbet not putting up any lines past 2 days.
Another oddity with 3 day pro am you have half players getting 2 am tees which you'd think would be advantage however reverse is true as 1st calm all day and more of same projected for today however yesterday HUGE advantage to early T's as wind whipped up in pm.Almost all in top 20 are from am T's yesteday with exception of Lowery and McCarron I believe.

Course stats from Rd2 ....

Average score:

Summerlin - 70.28
Southern Hills - 70.46
The Canyons - 69.04

Using the Sagarin Ratings per player to weight the above averages, I get the following:

Southern Hills again played the hardest yesterday
Summerlin played 0.06 shots easier than Southern Hills
The Canyons played 1.46 shots easier than Southern Hills

However, there some high scores at Summerlin in the afternoon and this pulled the average up. The variance of scores at Summerlin was twice as high as that at The Canyons (11.99 vs 5.83; Southern Hills was 9.19), so it appears that the winds were not a factor at The Canyons.

Alternative measures of the 'average' score also confirm that Summerlin didn't play any harder than The Canyons, only there were more higher very scores there:

Median score (if the scores are ranked, it the score that is at the mid-point of this ranking - addresses the problem of skewedness):

Summerlin - 69
Southern Hills - 70
The Canyons - 69

Mode score (the most common score):

Summerlin - 68
Southern Hills - 71
The Canyons - 68

So oppose players who are either playing in the afternoon or at Southern Hills today!

Hope this helps ;)

Thanks Stan Appreciate the data. Books are plying these 1st 3 days close to vest. Didn't think I saw any course mismatch this am and went back thru them and all my outs have been careful not to line any out of sequence, even $plays who I have not found a wager at yet this week.
Will definately put in my notes for next year data on winds not effecting canyons as much as other two. Nice little tidbit to know.
Thanks

Drat!!
Someone up there is having me on lately... I mention 6th my players finish 6th.... I mention lots of sub 70 rounds my players then have a 70+, I mention 62 so the same score comes along a day too late.

Fancy sending Estes home when he was just getting going.... I was expecting a wow finish 61-60ish :(

I demand a new cut rule... any player who improves his previous score by over 10 shots on cut day should make it!!

Addition to the rule.... unless I have laid him or have a match bet against him :)

At the cut 3rd rd 1-1-1 & 72 holes 2-0

3rd rd
Sutherland over Coceres Win
Pampling over Tripp loss
Dimarco over Riley push

72 holes
Sutherland/Leggett win
Frasar/Kutchar win
pending
Dimarco/Sluman 3 down
Verplank/Huston 4 down
Appleby/Beem 6 up

Outrights Pampling MC (-9) Mccarron tied at 8th
no in running place wagers available to add.

Can't find 4th rd play remotely close to wager. The books that are lining them are all cloned with exception of 5dimes and Kudos to them but like nothing there either. Hope the wind lights it up last rd and throws some challenge in this event but doesn't look like that will happen.

Mid-point update:

Appleby/Beem Leads by 6
Howell/Beem Leads by 6
Sluman/Beem Leads by 8
Calcavecchia/Daly WON by 15
Verplank/Riley Trails by 2

Furyk 1st
DiMarco 5th
Verplank 43rd

Pretty good event so far. Handsome leads in the matchups and two in the top-5. Only Verplank has disappointed. He had a poor round and lost his top-10 position, but hopefully he can bounce back today and overtake Riley at least. The PGA Tour season is certainly ending better than it started!

Got a couple 4th rounders

Furyk -105 over Duval @ $plays
Been scared to fade Duval here as stated from the start.179th driving accuracy means little here as he's ave over 300 yds a drive and whats a wedge from light rough--but will have to give Furyk a look at these odds as he ave almost a stroke less on final rd scoring ave (ranked 13th) and on course he loves. He's beat Duval this week 3 out 4 rds and hope this makes it 4 out of 5.

Verplank -102 over Leonard @ 5Dimes
Despite his under achieving this week will give a shot as he too has almost full stroke advantage on final rd scoring ave as has like this course in the past.

One big misconception I had n this event is I thought the (ties lose) in 90 holes would be less likely to come into play with 18 more holes being played but I have never seen such grouped together scores in a tourney

All's well that end well.... good old betfair! Secured some 54 Tataurangi while he was in joint second place 3 behind Furyk. Think I have tipped him up here at least twice this season.... but of course not this week to save him the dreaded KOD :D

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
I was paying enough attention to drop $2 to Win on my boy Phil Tataurangi(110/1) when I saw the Tour was back to some wide open desert golf. I saw he was doing well, but given my run of dodgy football capping, you can't imagine my surprise when I clicked on the computer and saw he was in the clubhouse with the lead, and it held up. I really wish I would have caught some of it on TV.

That gives me $1.50 on Kuchar(110/1), $2.50 on Maruyama(85/1) and $2.00 on Tataurangi(110/1) on less than $300 of such bets during the year, while I hit ZERO champions on the PGA Tour during the year on "regular unit" plays. I still don't know what I'm doing.

Nice job, Phil. It saves me a reload at 5dimes.

Final update:

Matchups: 4-1-0; +2.75 units

Appleby/Beem WON by 10
Howell/Beem WON by 7
Sluman/Beem WON by 10
Verplank/Riley LOST by 5

Outrights: 1-2; +0.00 units

Furyk 4th
DiMarco 16th
Verplank 51st

Small profit on the event, but it was another one that got away this week. Furyk lead for most of the week, but few had any answer to Tataurangi's final round 62. DiMarco had a disappointing weekend to fall out of a top-5 place, while Verplank only figured on the first day and was a poor player to back this week.

PGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 88-87; -25.93 units
Outrights: 18-85; -0.68 units

All Tours ytd
Matchups: 200-173; +3.81 units
Outrights: 71-270; +158.05 units
