Honestly, Scott, I have not stopped laughing since.....and, I am not going to lie to you, when someone knocked on my door a couple of hours ago, I got a little worried. Grabbed a seven iron as I went to the door, just in case.....as it turns out it was just the pizza guy, although I have been getting steadily dizzier ever since eating it....maybe I am not out of the woods after all. :142smilie

that is so funny lmao. the pizza guy :142smilie

I always say I am what I am but I think thats more popeye than right winger.
hey toledo - from what you know, would you describe my politics as right wing ? I never really have tried to peg myself like that ?

Scott,
I honestly do not know. I lurk within the poilitcal forum, but sometimes the rhetoric from everyone is too much and I glaze over who supports what....as far as right winger, i save that classification for anyone who is extreme....meaning a republican or even a conservative is not necessarily "right wing." I think the same as
"left wing." I have tons of liberal tendencies personally, but I would never consider myself a left winger because that would mean, imo, that there's only one way to do things. I have enough conservative in me that I feel pretty balanced.

I think there are great concepts within both the liberal and conservative theoires that ought to be used when trying to maintain a great nation like ours. I could not call anyone a winger of any sorts if they believed that.

however, if you take that above statement and say, thats crap there's nothing good within liberalism (or conversely conservatism) then I would say you were a winger....and I would also call that person short sighted and probably would need to stop listening to Rush and Fox News (or surf some other site than Daily Kos).

I do know you're hilarious.....and while I cant remember all of your political posts, I always make sure to take a peak and give consideration into your handicapping threads.

I'll be voting for Hillary in the Primary this Spring (dead serious). I have ulterior motives of course... Hope she can gain some ground on Obama!!

I won't vote if my choices are Romney vs. Obama. Sad day if that happens!

Could there possibly be a worse public orator than Hillary?

ferristeacher.jpg

The establishment's heroine......lacks gravitas, flexibility, and "that thing." Leaking oil all over the place and $$$$$ can't help her. Should've joined the party in 2006 for a tangible "record of change" she could've fallen back on. Instead she's falling on her sword, which imho, she could use desperately, if you know what I'm sayin';)

PS Hey reddsfan!!! I'll bet you're gonna miss the all the politicos!! TTMFs!!!:00hour

Game's on, but the real fight coming up right after the Big Game.

in case any of you political junkies want some local coverage of the caucus last night...www.qctimes.com

Seems as if 200,000+ Dems and 100,000+ Repubs turned out last night..Still pathetic numbers in a state that has 2 million registered voters.

Maybe by 2012 there will be enough of an uprising nationally to change how this whole process works, but don't hold your breath....

I have been predicting her downfall because of just what you said--she failed to join her party in 2006......there is a long way to go, but I dont think she will pull it off.....desperation does not suit her....of course, the theme here that you and I both espoused is one that is completely lost on the mainstream media......but they are lost on a lot of themes, on a lot of issues.

Wonder, though, what kind of longterm viabality a guy like Obama has. This morning in my office here what was said about him by different people: Is he even American, dont you have to be an American; with a name like that, I am moving to Canada if he gets elected; if he's elected we'll all be forced to read the Koran and grow beards.

Now the first comment was made by a factory worker who does not at all follow politics. The other two were made by folks with sit in their offices and listen to "talk" radio, like Rush and company.

Nevertheless, its pretty clear what the message from the airwaves is going to be in an attempt to sway the uninitiated....and of course there are plenty unitiated who skew Democratic, and you can bet those same subtle messages will be thrown out there by the Hillary camp.....she will try to do to him, what W's operatives did to McCain in 2000....remember the phone bank type of calls in the southern states that told stories of McCain being a traitor in Vietnam while he was a POW and having an illiegimate, brown child.....one of about a thousand reasons I think our current president and his ilk are terrible leaders and cant wait for them to finally leave power.

And, congratulations to all Iowans.....you now have your state back!!

Dem's got what they wanted HUCk. Even the first Black can beat HUCk. Iowa's turn out as Redsfann said was low VS numbers that could show up. But on other hand a new record of 54000 more Dem's then ever showed before should be a eye opener.
If those many people in Iowa are peed. Should be interesting when they get places where things are not as good as in Iowa.

I think the Ioweegians did a pretty amazing thing last night. They supported a strict conservative (for the most part) with not much financial backing, and a relatively young black man without a lot of experience.

Seems like the beauty of a real democratic process won out last night, and at least midwestern values seem to be looking for something new and different. Which I think is refreshing, and a lot of people could learn from that.

they have done that before, Chadman. Remember when Pat Robertson ran for Pres.?
A few more Dems turned out this year, but overall, its the far reaches of each party that turn out on caucus night. And thats just one of many reasons why I think Iowa should lose its first in the nation status when it comes to Presidential selecting.

Interesting, thanks. I have heard from a lot of reports today that a lot more young people came out this year than even before, and those votes went to Obama. I have to think that could be a big factor moving forward...he could be a pretty galvanizing figure for young people.
