It is a very uncommon error. I know you contacted the apple support and it's been quite a while. But I will still recommend waiting for them. They will give you the best solution for you. If you do something on your own and something wrong happens they won't take the responsibility and won't fix it if it's in your warranty period. I once had an iTunes error called iTunes error 14. I contacted the apple support and they helped me out.

This was 3.5 years ago, and a weird thread to bump, but at that time, the phone was warrantied out, and they gave us a brand new one. Just a pain in the butt Driving down there for the fix. We never have plugged one in to the computer since. If I remember correctly, it was fairly common if your phone was backing up while hooked to the computer, and that connection was broken or lost, this error would often happen. It was a big problem for many people.
