Something to look at might be metabolism boosters such as xenadrine or stacker2.

Marine,

What, if any, health effects should one be concerned with using these products?

I see that stacker2 uses an ephedra extract. Heard that ephedra has been problematic on the circulatory system.

Thanks.

Considering all the positive response, I thought I would provide an update.

Day 16 on the diet and I've lost 1 pound per day or 16 pounds total. I am more than half way to my goal. Running every night and feeling GREAT!

I have not had a cigarette in 11 days!! The cravings are still there but the will to quit is too strong!!

While I questioned my ability to quit smoking and diet at that same time, I am driven to succeed! It actually makes sense, as this way I won't put on the pounds that typically come when you quit smoking.

Thanks again for all the words of encouragement and advice. You guys are great!

way to go stud!
to counteract your diet, someone has to help the world out and take care of the excess alcohol you are no longer consuming. I have taken that task upon myself and have packed on 9 pounds since you started the diet.

hoo yah!

keep it up... i wanna see you in a speedo out here at xmas!

Way to go!! The cig thing is very tough but you can do it if you want too.

The Jarhead (notice I did Capitalize

) is right in very suggestion. I have used them all when I quit drinking/drugging about 20 years ago and smoking about 8 years ago. Last May I started at the gym and dropped 35 pounds quickly by swimming and lifting. Lot of great suggestions. The best suggestions - fewer carbs, lots of water, your wife's rewards!

Good luck

Time for an update.........

It has been 4 weeks since I began my diet. I am pleased to report that I have lost 23 pounds! I have only 16 more pounds to go until I reach my goal weight.

I quit smoking 24 days ago and FEEL GREAT! I just got home from a 5 mile run, and have alot more energy.

Last week I was in Reno for 3 days. Imagine the temptation with all the food, free drinks and smoking everywhere. However, there I was playing Blackjack and drinking .............................my bottled water!! Hell, I even ran when I was there!

Thanks again for all your support!!
