Looks like Mosley's attorney just confirmed with the LA Times that Mayweather has finally signed the contract.

So what kinda line should we expect?

My prediction is that Floyd outslicks Mosley and makes him look really old. Floyd by UD. :SIB

Good news. I'm on Money -215.

BTW Assassin, is that a muff in your face or are you the reincarnation of Jim Croce

@punch Thanks for that. Interesting read. Can't beleive Mayweather signed. Still, it's a long way to May 1.

@Zerwas Yeah, in spite of Mosley looking supreme against Margo he has had plenty of uneven performances over the past few years. He looked poor against Vargas I and he was sloppy with Mayorga. And he lost to Cotto, in a fight he could have won bu seemed too much in awe of Cotto's then aura.

But Shane is still, fast, strong and tough. And he if he gets himself in impeccable shape and is as strong as a middleweight, he can do something in this one. He's no punk front runner like Judah. he's a serious, motivated guy that lives in the Gym. And he doesn't have Jin .

If my memory serves, he and Jin called in quits before the Margo fight. Some guys would have suffered from that, but Shane seemed to thrive after losing that wac bitch.I'll never forget some feature HBO did when she said she does all the real work as if Shane going out to a training camp to earn millions pales in comparison. What a twat.

And this is Mayweather's first real challenge since he fought Corrales 9 years ago. Based on the totality of the circumstances, I think Shane can do it. But it won't be nearly as easy as it would have been for the pacmonster.

i don`t like hiim either,personally...but that doesn`t change the talent..

GW, your sharper than this. I almost think you posted this to get a rise. Yea, Marquez, fought Manny at 126 and 130, ideal weights for him. It's been quite confirmed that Juan Diaz is no world beater and he was able to push around Marquez at 135. Marquez has no business fighting above 135, 130 is ideall and I recall Nacho Beristain saying he could still make his lifelong wieight of 126. It was quite evident Marquez was a fat , bloated, slower, aging 142 pounder and Money wouldn't even make 144.. it was a joke. Paq kept his weight down and is a legit 140+ pounder now. No one is denying Floyd's speed, skills, master defense but he's ensured an advantage going into the ring for some time now and if Mosley was 32 years old, I'm not sure this fight happens. Shane will be what, 2 months short of his 39th birthday and 17 months inactive come fight time, a couple of key checkmarks for Floyd to make the fight.

Marquez wasn't a challenge at welterweight. He was a fat old man at that point. He simply couldn't do waht Pac did when going up in weight.

Look at what Floyd's done in recent years. Baldomir, Judah after losing to Baldomir, Hatton who lost to Collazo and not a legit welter, Shot Sharmba Mitchell, Arturo"never met a punch he didn't like" Gatti.

Oscar - well that made all the $ense iin the world.

I know he's got skills and talent but he's has been a serious cherry picker since his fights with Castillo. If you don't see that, then I can't help you.

And I do give credit if he steps in with Mosley. In lieu of Pacquiao he is more than reasonable. And yes, I do hate the guy but not for the gansta stuff, I hate him because he has avoided real challenges for a long time while talking as if he's above them or simply negating them. He's the ultimate bullshitter and i don't like that. Pad your bank account, fine, but fight the best.

Ali talked smack too but fought everyone. Floyd doesn't do that. And really only Ali could talk the crap he did and still come across as likable and charming. Hey, he was a special guy. No one has copied that in a good way.

Do it the way Pac does if your gonna talk the talk. Fight real guys. He doesn't do that. But Shane is certainly a solid step towards some redemption.

gee..about a week ago guys were swearing that floyd would never get in the ring with mosely(yes, the same mosely that just dominated margarito)....

so what are you guys saying?.......floyd`s garbage?....he`s a protected fraud?...he`s not top 5 in his era?...

c`mon...you guys are gonna have to stop making excuses every time floyd makes an opponent look foolish....it is what it is...

now it`s moseley`s age...marquez was too small....oscar sucked....

the bar will continue to be moved until floyd`s reflexes finally desert him...

i love you guys, but this unwillingness to acknowledge the best "pure boxer" since roy jones in his prime seems to indicate you have tunnel vision in all matters floyd.......

f.d.s....."floyd derangement syndrome"

i understand...he`s a reprehensible character...i have that same affliction with all things "ali"...an unnatural(bordering on irrational) dislike of the guy...

and btw,kramden.....we could go into manny`s opponents...of late, they aren`t all that different than floyd`s....lord,who`s a bigger "cherry picker" than manny`s boy freddie roach?(see amir khan)...

I will guarntee you one thing in this fight.

Floyd Jr is going to run like a little bitch.

I will look at this closer as time goes on, but if Sugar Shane is not real good at cutting off the ring and closing a fleet of foot opponant, he will never get to Floyd the way he will need to.

He ain't in the ring with him yet. But I do give him credit for fighting Shane, if it comes off. And f if he beats him , he'll deserve more credit and it will take much of the tarnish on his recent resume.

As to his ability, he's a defensive wizard but he's not an impressive offensive force. If you like his style, fine, but I don't. I like buzz saws that run guys out of the ring a la Pacquiao. Floyd has been effective with his style against inferior opposition but I want to see him against tough, top guys.

Mosley is a good start. Let's see how it plays out. If he get's drubbed by Shane, then many will understand what Floyd knew (but would never admit) all along.

and btw said:
Hey, but Freddy is an honest cherry picker. And he's not a cherry picker for Pac. He's confident with him against anyone. But he'll admit when things could be tough like he said regarding Yuri Foreman's size and height. And he admits that Amir needs some coddling and that Maidana is a dangerous dude. He's brutally honest regarding his fighters opponets.

Do you think Floyd would ever say, "well, I don't want to fight this guy because he's too big and strong so I'll go with small, slower guys that can't hurt me." Hell, no. He's a lying, disingenuous phony. He tries to piss in everyone's face and tell them it's fine wine. He's a complete weasel - no insult to your sobriquet intended.
