Sure it would suck and going after websites is one thing, but reality is going after end users is a joke.
I just downloaded and watched the movie "The Lovely Bones" which comes out in theatres on Jan. 15th.

I would guess the studios are pissed but coming after me is not an option.
All these sites are outside the US and makes them next to impossible to prevent.
The UFC should consider themselves lucky that they have so much success in stopping so many feeds like they do already.
This is just an attempt to discourage the paranoid people. The WWE did it back int he day as well and not a single person was punished.

Also is it a me or is it odd that this story surfaces coming off a UFC 108 card that had little buzz and I am sure the PPV numbers were awful.

Dana will point to piracy as the reason for low numbers instead of a crap card.
He mentions Justin.tv shows all kind of copyright crap that is illegal yet the site and the illegal copyright showings still go on.

Good luck. It sounds like he is going to waste a ton of cash and bump up the cost of everything to the people who do pay which is usually me.
I went to my brothers the other night as they bought it. I rarely stream as they usually go down or suck.
If I don't pay then I just download the torrent late that night. Is Dana going after that as well?:mj07:

I enjoyed UFC 108, thought the fights were good?

Sponge....so if ya make a lot of money it is ok to steal from your business:shrug:

Any one of us would do what we could if people were stealing millions of dollars from us.

I didn't say anything negative about the fights themselves but the card really lacked in marketing ability. Mostly due to injury but still lacking.

You thought that after the card. It is hard to buy the card after the fact.

The PPV buys on this card are going to be LOW!

Bottom line....if you owned a company and people were stealing from you wouldn't you be pissed???
Not if I was Dana I wouldn't!!!

I would be too busy kissing the Fert brothers arses for taking me out of the Boxercise basement and making me a Millionare.

That condesending, cheapskate, Baldy Fucker can suck my left ball!!!
Doesn't pay the talent what they are worth and then whines about money???

Gives Paul Daley a KO bonus while stiffing Anthony Johnson and then tries to talk ethics???

I should sue this fat, baldy, wannabe fighter for his shit, grainy UFC production, somehow making it's way onto my computer!!!

I surf the net for Porn, not to watch a talentless Fuckhead like Dana White try to become bigger and more famous than the guy's who do the actual bleeding.

Veteran Franca retires

By Ken Pishna/MMAWeekly.com Jan 10, 1:52

UFC veteran and former WEC lightweight champion Hermes Franca on Friday night announced his retirement from mixed martial arts. His decision comes on the heels of a loss via TKO to Eric Wisely at MaxFightsDM: Ballroom Brawl IV in Des Moines, Iowa.

His manager, Reed Wallace of White Chocolate Management, informed MMAWeekly.com of his fighter?s decision late Friday night.
The loss was Franca?s fourth in his last five outings. Three of those losses were in the UFC to Sean Sherk, Frankie Edgar, and Tyson Griffin.
?The fans gave me the passion and strength that kept me competing at the championship levels for all these years. Without them, I couldn?t have done it.
I owe it all to the fans,? said Franca, while indicating that his body just can?t keep up with the demands of today?s elite level fighters.
From the beginning of his career, Franca continually fought the top fighters in the sport. His victories include a veritable who?s who of MMA: Caol Uno, Mike Brown, Nate Diaz, Spencer Fisher, Rich Crunkilton, Jamie Varner, and Marcus Aurelio, to name but a few.
Wallace told MMAWeekly.com that the 35-year-old native of Forteleza, Brazil, native intends to rest briefly then return to training his students and fighters at his gym, East West Combat Club in Syracuse, N.Y.
Franca is looking forward to spending time with his family and developing business opportunities as he moves on to the next stage of his life.

Coach: Lesnar will return

By Ken Pishna/MMAWeekly.com Jan 10, 1:55 pm EST

It?s been six months since UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has set foot in the Octagon, but if recent reports contrary to some of the more dire prognostications are accurate, he may be back before another six months lapse.
Marty Morgan, the assistant head wrestling coach at the University of Minnesota and one of Lesnar?s trainers, told Sportsnet.ca?s Joe Ferraro, ?Everyone?s asking about (Brock?s) health. He had a bout with a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract in November, and now we?re just kind of working our way to get back to where we need to get back to fight.?

While recent speculation suggested Lesnar might never be able to fight again, or at least have a recovery that might best be measured in years, Morgan definitively countered such talk. ?He will fight again. I know that it?s just a matter of the public finding out when soon enough.?
Former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Randy Couture, speaking with Inside MMA?s Ron Kruck, reinforced Morgan?s comments.
?I spoke with Brock; I don?t think his career is over. I think they?ve got the issues he?s been having under control and he?s back training,? relayed the UFC Hall of Famer. ?I think he will be back in the Octagon this spring and ready to fight again.?
That?s a far cry from just a week ago when Lesnar?s future was still very much in doubt.
?This week Brock Lesnar is going back to the doctor, getting fully checked out by one of the best doctors and hospitals in the world,? said UFC president Dana White following last week?s UFC 108 in Las Vegas.
?If the doctors say things are going well and things are going in the right direction then maybe we?re a few months away from him coming back. If it?s not going in the right direction, he?ll either be done and have to retire or he?ll be out for a couple years. So, hopefully we get good news.?
Apparently the news was good.
There?s still no definite answer to when Lesnar will return, but it now sounds like his return is imminent.
In the meantime, former champion Frank Mir will face top contender Shane Carwin for the interim heavyweight title at UFC 111 on March 27 in New Jersey.

The line is out for UFC 111 matchup between Mir and Carwin.
2 books have it at :
Mir -170
Carwin +140

Sportsbook has it at:
Mir-155
Carwin +125.

Wow. I thought I would have to give up about -220 or more on Mir. This is too easy. I may have mentioned Carwin blows on another thread or two.

I don't use Sportsbook so I will roll the dice that the line at 5Dimes comes down before I unload.
Not that it matters as Weinerdog would say "I didn't know it was already Christmas!" :142smilie

Love these odds.. even moreso now that Mir has put on about 15 pounds of muscle since getting beat by Lesnar.

I dont think Edgar has a prayer against Penn if it even happens. Different class of fighters. Penn is a legitimate hall of fame legend. Edgar is an overachiever at best. As dull as Maynard looked last night, I might rather see that fight. Gray might at least have an outside punchers chance with one of those wild haymakers. Id rather see Evan Dunham or even Florian again. Too bad there cant be an Aoki or maybe Gilbert Melendez to try and tangle with Penn. At this point I just dont think any of the potentials for Penns next fight have any chance beyond a snowballs of actually winning.

"the bunker"
penn vs 155`ers is akin to gsp vs penn....

penn`s just too big at the weight...

edgar`s one helluva fighter..just look at his resume.....but, he could fight at 145 easily...

penn`s a tweener in the other direction...

dunham is a guy with some promise...that height and the lefty stance...and he`s not skin and bones like diaz....

i think he`s the best option to fight penn...if there is an option......
